Zoe ?

Hi !
I'm English and my husband is French. We live in France and I'm expecting our 4th child. My hubbie really likes the name Zoe, it would be Zoé here. Our other children are Thomas, Mathieu and Meg.
I was wondering whether Zoe comes across as a nice name in England. We're looking for something as short as Meg !

zoe is short and makes me think of a self-assured, independent, energetic person

the word looks a little like zoo, though

I am in the US so I can't tell you how English people view the name

For a short name, you may like June or Olive

Short pretty names

I like the name Zoe. I think it's very cute and goes well with Claire as a middle name. It is rather common here in the US, and I'm surprised it isn't more common abroad.

Another pretty three letter girls name is Eve. Eve Marie is rather pretty. I also like Emi. Emi Kelila is very pretty. And then of course Mia.

Mia might be a good choice because you already have a Mathieu and a Meg and therefore you can continue the chain of Ms.

I like Mia with Beth since you are looking for something short.

In America it's very common, I don't really like the name Zoe, for french girl names maybe somthing like, Lea?

Hi. I am from Canada and i am pregnant with my 2nd child. I recently found out i was having a boy but i was hoping for a girl...I had the name for a girl chosen and it was Zoe Amber McKenzie. I came up with those names with the help of my first child so i suggest getting input from your other children because chances are they may like something that turns out that you like also. thank you for the info. It's just that sometimes a name which is popular here isn't in the UK and vice versa.
We are looking for a short name which is why Zoe came up.
My Dad said something about it being associated to Cockneys and Eastenders ! I've been in France for 17 years so have no idea how certain names can come across. I really thought it was a snobby thing to say but I'll forgive him and it's not for him to choose anyway !
