I'm in a real quandry - there are two girls names in particular i like but no matter how much my hubby and i think about it we cannot make a decision. We have narrowed it down to

Amelie Joy or
Amalia Joy

Most of the family etc seem to prefer Amelie but it does not have as nice a meaning as Amalia and although i am fully aware that meaning doesn't really get used for much etc it means an awful lot to my husband (for religious reasons) that the meaning is a good one.

My husband therefore prefers Amalia but people seem to have a problem with the pronounciation and i do not want to name her something that is going to be a pain for her later...

What do you guys think? and how would you pronounce Amalia?

Many thanks for your help in advance!!!!!

What about combining them? See, you have a name with 2 e's (amEliE) and a name with 2 a's (amAliA ... well, 3 a's, but you know what I mean) ...

So how about Amelia? It's a much nicer spelling too!

Chose the name but cant decide on the spelling! help Triplets!!!!!Help with boys namesAdvise on names!!BabyBaby boy?Girly names for boys????Need help with names ....Help with naming new twins!Baby girl namesBaby names
