Cosette: what do you think of it?

I would like opinions on this name, since I am likely to name a daughter this in the future. My partner and I really like it, but it's unusual and I know that not many people do. For those of you that are completely unfamiliar with it, it's pronounced Koh-zette with the emphasis on the second syllable.

People are saying it'll sound too much like 'casette' or 'corset', but I don't think it does if the emphasis is in the right place. Also, can anybody think of any other nicknames apart from Cozi or Coco because i think either of those will cause bullying. If anybody here is named, or knows a Cosette, could you let me know your experience at school and in life generally. Thanks in advance.

Any opinions welcome as long as they're not really offensive

Indeed so french

I had an old colleague called Cosette, it fits her but I don't think any baby should be called that name now.
That's such a reminder of victor hugo so it's classy indeed but the girl will have difficult days
If you want to reduce it to Coco, Coralie is nice French name, there's also Corinne (I hate it but some have this name) or Caroline can be said that too.

good luck !

Bonjour!

Hello! This is a franch name! Honestly I don't like it very much... This name is famous thanks to a french author: Victor Hugo! In fact, Cosette was the main character of LES MISERABLES. She was a poor girl who was ill-treated by the family she lived with (Les Thénardiers).

In France this name really has a negative connotation, when you say Cosette, french people immediatly think of a poor and unlucky girl, who lived a poor life and who induce pity... I really do not advise use to choose that name...

Sorry!
