thank you everynoe, I'm glad at that you said they are beautiful, and that none of them seems to have any bad meaning.

I chose 2 out of these 5 above, so I'd like you to vote. which sounds more beautiful/easy to pronounce??

Saori
Mana

Thanks again!

"Need help for a girl's name!"
Posted by aya0715 18 October  at  22:43

hi, I'm from Japan, going to move to UK early next year.
I'm now expecting a girl in December, and I want to give her
a name that can be accepted also in English speaking countries.
I don't give a name that has a bad meaning in English, so I need a help!!

my husband and I thought of these several names. what do you think?
does any one of those sound odd/have bad meaning? any opinions would be appreciated.

thanks!

Saori(pronounced like Maori starting with S)...meaning: beautiful fabric
Eri...(Erika without "ka")meaning: bright lapis lazuli
Runa...(Ru is for room)meaning: blue calm ocean
Mana...(ma is for map)meaning: beloved
Rei...(same as Ray)meaning: wisdom

"Saori"

Out of the two I like Saori, its very pretty!
"Amaya? "

Saori reminds me too much of Suri and Mana reminds me too much of Amanda. I'm not really a big fan of either. If you want something that sounds pretty in English but also has Japanese roots I would recommend Amaya.

Amaya means night rain.

I think it sounds so pretty and would be gorgeous for a Japanese-English girl.

I also really like the name Rei from your list. It's very pretty.
Amaya Rei would sound good together.

Hanako is also one of my favorite Japanese names meaning flower child. I knew a beautiful girl with this name growing up. I also really like Sakura, meaning cherry blossom.

There all beautiful names.
I like Rei & Eri, there both really nice. I think it's really inmoptant to keep names from your ethnic group.

Good Luck,
Johana
