"Help with "l" middle names (french)"
Posted by severin26 28 October  at  08:04

I'm looking for a middle name for my daughter who I plan on naming either Cosette or Colette but I'm favoring Cosette at the moment.

I'd like to use a middle name starting with an "L" particularly french or english. I really like the name Lillian. Other names I had in mind were, Lieselotte, or Louise but I'm not sure. I like then name Linette also but I think it rhymes to much with Cosette.

I'd gladly except your help and opinions.

"L middle names (french) "

Hi. I grew up with many French people with names starting with L, here they are:

Laurette/Laure (Meaning: of Laurentum)
Leonne (Meaning: Lion)
Lisette (Meaning: God is my oath)
Lucienne (Meaning: Light)
Ludivine (Meaning: Divine Light)
Lulu (Meaning: Famous Warrior)

I hope that helps.

Ludivine (means divine light)
Laure
Lisa

I think Louise is very cute, for Cosette read what I have written under, but maybe it does not count too much if she's not going to live in France

I really like the name Léonore but isn't is quite old-fashioned in France?
"Leonore"

is not very common but not really old-fashioned, it is a diminutive of Eleonore (I think the english version of this name is Alienor).

Cosette means little thing... and it is the name of a poor and mistreated little girl in a famous French novel "Les Miserables". Nobody would call their daughter Cosette in France because it is a sad name for us.
