I have four kids, George, Elionr, Darcie and Fern and now im 5 months pregnant with number5. me and my hubby dont know the sex and have been toying with loads of names. i recently came accross the name Annis and for some reason i have fallen for it but on the other hand is is too old womany?

names we have liked so far are Annie, Jayney, Alice, Mary for girls and Oscar, Henry, William, Douglas and Finley for boys.

Well WDYT of Annis then? is it good choice or hideous?

Oh hek...anus?

Sorry sorry but with my infantile mind..he/she is bound to get teased in school.
It depends on your surname too. Adn check the initials!

Wow.

I see the spelling of this name and I immediately have the urge to pronounce it "anus"...which isn't good. I really hope you change the spelling before you give birth. Just a thought.

Love it...

Though I would probably spell it Anise, pronounced the same way.

I'd say for a boy Douglas or Finley.

Congratulations and best of luck!

Hideous

Annis brings to mind an old cat lady. If you like the feel of this name may I recommend Anais?

It's a French name with a very old fashioned yet classy and timeless feel to it, and seeing as you seem to like classic names, I think this would be a good choice for you.

Anais Elisabeth would be nice.

Also, I love the name Elinor. My grandmother's name is Eleanor and Ellenora is big on my list.

Annis

Hey.
I know a lady named, Annis. She is very smart. Annis seems not to common, but your kids names are very old, by the way, Fern is a beautiful name . So Annis, hmmmm...I would have to say I don't really like it, the lady I know is very elderly. I wouldn't name my child that.

Elinor not elionr lol!!

Her name is Elinor.
