"Sleeping in his own bed???"
Posted by lauraellen1986 9 October  at  10:55

Hi there i have a little boy who will be 2 years old in novemeber and at the moment he comes into my bed whenever he wakes in his own bed! He wont stay in his bed at all if he realises hes in there and has really bad episodes of crying if we try to put him back! In the end we give up and let him into our bed but now i'm almost 6 weeks pregnant with our second child i want to try and get him settled into his own room properly before our new addition arrives! Does anyone have any advise on how to tackle this situation? all sugestions will be much appreciated!
Thanks
Laura

I have a 3 year old and a 17 month old. My 3 year old use to get up, but i would just put him back in his own bed he only did it a few times. I think he got more fed up then me. Also we put a safety gate on his bedroom door which stopped the wandering out of the bedroom. I never have to use it now really so it does work. Persevere with it and keep putting him back he will soon get the idea. I hope that i have been a little help. good luck with it all.

Hi
i know it hard but you are going to have to stick to keep getting up and putting him back in his own bed, dont get me wrong i know its hard and your going to have sleepless nights, but at the end of the day if you dont sort it now your going to end up sharing your bed for a long time. I know, my daughter is five and like you i used to let her in the bed just so i could get some sleep, but when she started growing its harder to share your bed when theres no room!
She is now in a good routine and she genrally stays a sleep all night, but it was hard at first.
