"15months old early morning waking up"
Posted by rocsana 16 June  at  15:21

Hi everyone,

I have a 15months old boy and is waking up around 6am every day and for the past few months I've tried several things to make him sleep just a bit longer, until about 7am, but without any success so I will really appriciate if you could give me some advise or maybe explain to me why this could happen.

I would like to mention that he sleeps through the night since he was 7 months old and he used to wake up around 7am, but from December he started waking up earlier and earlier.I put him to sleep around 7.30-8.00pm every night,I've tried putting him later, but he was still waking up at 6am and was very tired by 9am, then I also changed his nap times, so for nearly 2 weeks he now sleeps about 2 hours after lunch, but still no change!I've also made his room as dark as I could.

I hope someone could help me!
Thank you,
Rocsana

my son is nearly 1, and started this habit of waking so early. we put darker curtains up, didn't really do the trick. i've now put a fan in his room, because it did seem to be getting quite warm in there, i also put his juice cup in his cot when i go up to bed, and i'm finding that seems to keep him quiet. I get very thirsty at night, especially during the summer, so i thought its probably the same for him. and now, i can usually lay in til between 8 and 9. He's also got a couple of little toys in cot too.

Thank you for your message.

Yesterday I've tried something new, I've reduced his lunchtime nap to only an hour and a bit and this morning he wake up at 6.30am,I will see in a few days if this really works! It is amazing how much diference 30min of sleep make!

I hope you will find a solution soon, I know very well how annoying is waking up early everyday!

Good luck!
Rocsana
