Vomiting

I just wondered when you should start to worry?! Archie feeds really well, too well, he really guzzles! He gets what he needs and then seems to go back for more. This normally results in vomit which ranges from a small amount to HUGE amounts with force!!!!! Then of course he needs feeding again!!

I have mentioned it to both my MW and the HV neither of which seemed that worried about it. He was weighed today and has gone from 8lb10(he lost a bit) to 9lb4 so hes obviously getting enough food. But when you get covered in a shower of sick, which has happened a couple of times now your bound to worry

Please let me know what you think on the matter girls xx

Thanx Adele+Archie xx

Well

Holly used to do this a lot especially in the first 6-8 weeks. Basically she was being a greedy baby and having too much, then sicking up what she didn't want... sometimes she sicked up too much and wanted a bit more feeding after this. Also she used to very often bring up whole feeds with wind, when her tummy was still very small, and then of course want feeding all over again! Eventually she stopped doing it though as she got bigger. I would say if your MW says not to worry then try not to, but maybe keep an eye on it if it gets worse or you are still concerned speak to HV again.

Hope you are both doing well, seen your pics on FB Archie is such a cutie pie

Love and hugs.

Doesnt sound good

Sean had pyloric stenosis as a baby, google it and you will see what it is.

He would have his milk, projectile vomit then have more milk and it got worse over time, the sickness would eventually be with every feed. He was putting on weight too, about 4 - 6loz at a time and doing everything else.

Looking back at the pictures now, we can see how ill he was and how drawn in his wee face was.

Anyway, better get it checked out if it keeps up.

Had the same thing.......

.......... with my little one when she was about that age........... i was worrid but she still had lots of wet nappies and was putting on weight do i just persevered and it got better.......... dont worry hun i know it's easily said but you'd know if something was wrong with him............. xx danica and cadene 9 months xx

If it's getting very bad

or if you are concerned by it, try changing formula. I put Etienne, my little boy, on SMA staydown, and, as it says on the tin, it stays down!!! itve been swearing by it ever since. He was on it until he was 9 months old. His reflux was quite severe and I remember having to give him some gaviscon for about a month when he was around 3 months old on top of the staydown milk, but then he was fine again just with the staydown milk, which, but this is just my personal opinion, is better than having to give medicine all the time.
You can ask your HV about it.
good luck,
Flo, Etienne 17 months, and 36 wk pink bump
