Door bouncers and baby walkers...

what are you opinions on them? I've heard that door bouncers can make baby stand on tiptoes and get bowed legs and that baby walkers can slow development amongst other things.

I'm not actually bothered about a baby walker but was gonna get Sam a door bouncer but after reading a load of stuff against them on tinternet I'm now not so sure so I thought I'd ask you lovely ladies! Surely a bounce in moderation won't do any harm?

thought the stuff i read was a big load of old tripe! I bought Sam a door bouncer yesterday, he's yet to go in it but can't wait to see his reaction! x

Hi hun

Holly doesn't have a baby walker, not really got the room. But she does have a door bouncer and LOVES it!! She goes in it for about 15mins a day My brother had one and was in it loads, he is now 14 and has completely normal legs!! My little sister had a baby walker, she loved it and she was walking around at her first birthday party...

Love and hugs.

Hey rach,

Kaitlyn has both and loves them. She doesn't stand on tiptoes in either and her legs look pretty normal to me! I only ever use them when I have time to supervise constantly so she can't get herself into trouble and only for a few minutes at a time. I think most things are ok in moderation and just try to make sure she gets plenty of different activities through the day. Hope that helps a bit and that you and Sam are well,

love and hugs,
Clare and Kaitlyn xxxx

Hi rach

Neither of my two had walkers & were both walking by 11 months.

They both had doorway bouncers though & loved them!
I can't remember exactly what they advice but i think it was no more than 20 mins.
Mine use to go in every day for 15 minutes & neither of them have bow legs or walk on tip toes.

Hope that helps xXx

Hey,

I'm not sure about door bouncers, I was going to get one for J but our door frames are flush with the celing iygwim so wouldn't have been able to use it anyway..... Not keen on walkers though.... They can go blóódy fast in those things and if you turn your back for a second that's it.... Crash into the tv and end up with said tv on top of them.... (yes this happened to my friends little girl, thank-fully she was ok) Scary though....

I settled on a real cool Jumperoo by fisher price..... Bit of both mixed together.... Sit in it like a baby walker with all the toy's around it...... But instead of being on wheels the baby can bounce in it like a door bouncer..... J loves it and keeps him entertained for hours....

Hope you and Sam are ok....

Lots of Luv
S and J (3months on Thursday )

Just re-read what I wrote..... Obviously I don't keep in there for hours, that would be mean. He goes in for usually 3 bouts of 10 minutes throughout the day......

Hey there,
I hada door bouncer and a walker 4 my 3 yr old.
I was told that as long as they are used sensibly and not overused then they are ok. I 2 had read different things on them but my little one enjoyed them n the walker actually helped her 2 balance n start 2 walk.
I think its personal choice. xxx
