sore bottie!

Hey girls, me again!! Isnt this heat horrible!!

Just a quick question: Archie has developed a REALLY sore bottom, its only the area around his little bottom hole but its red raw!! I think its probably due to the wet wipes and the fact hes drinking LOADS of milk and pooping more. So I have reverted back to using just warm water to clean him now.
I was just wondering what creams you guys advise to use in this situation??

Cheers for the advice

Well

Metanium (sp?) for very sore bum is a miracle cream!!! I use Sudocrem which is great if she is only a little sore. And yeah if she is really sore I only use water + cotton wool. Also Huggies Pure wipes are like just water and are FAB, I also let her bum totally dry in the air before I do up the nappy (Can see how that may be a bit more messy with a boy though lol...)

Poor love hope his little bum is better soon!

Love and hugs.

I use

Metanium when the skin is actually broken, (rarely, usually only when he's has loose poo's!), Then As a barrier I use sudocreme, when his bum is ok!

But I have found nothin better for a red raw bum than Lanisoh! its the ointmemnt for Brestfeeding mums to use for sore nipples, and I swear its like magic on a sore babies botty!!! Riley's seems to heal after one application if i use it! I had some left over from B'feeding and i use it for allsorts! It makes a fab lip balm too! lol

Sudocream is good... even though everyone seems to be recommend the other cream lol but were getting on with sudocream... you should get a little pot in your bounty pack.

Aw poor archie

Sam was exactly the same at that age, the midwife in the hospital had told me that he wouldn't need any bum cream! Anyway we tried Bepanthen but it didn't work for Sam so like the other girls suggested we tried Metanium which was miracle cream, we always have some in now and dab a bit on at the first sign of redness. We now also use zinc and castor oil cream at every change which acts as a barrier and it's dead cheap and lasts ages

Same as donna
