Worried mum - but not about my baby....!

Hi Girls,

I know we use these forums for all sorts of reasons but today I just want to vent out how I feel as I cannot really tell anyone at the moment.....

My OH, Mark has been feeling unwell for a couple of weeks, we thought it was hayfever but the last week his speech has become slurred, mouth is numb and his energy and co-ordination has gone. Yesterday, eventually he saw the dr and he has referred him to a neurologist and we will be going to the hospital tomorrow to get some bloods taken.....

He has not said what it is, could be a virus but I am worried that this is the start of MS. His twin sister has been diagnosed with MS recently and now I am concerned that Mark has the start of it.....

Those who know me on FB, please do not post anything as his sisters read my page and they do not know yet...

On a good note, Emily has been a little angel and coping so well with this heat! Yesterday she was chuckling away and shrieking for the first time which was lovely - bless her!

Thanks girls!

Lots of Love
Natalie & Emily xxxx

Update...

hi girls, re my previous post we have the appointment with the Neurologist tomorrow so fingers crossed.

His bloods came back abnormal with low red and white blood cell counts but we don't know anymore than that.

Good news is that Mark is feeling better and his speech has improved....

Thanks Girls

Natalie xx

Hiya

Doesn't a low white cell count mean a sign of infection, like your body has been using extra to combat an infection and low red cells mean anaemia? Dunno really but sounds like things that are easily treatable. I'm glad he's feeling better...here's to a full and fast recovery.

Aw hun...

well heres keeping our fingers crossed

Let us know how you get on..

Rachx

Thanks

for your kind wishes and prayers, Mark is at the hospital now getting his bloods taken, hope he doesn't faint - he did last time

We have an appointment with a private clinic in Winchester next Wednesday with a neurologist so that has come through quick - the powers of private health. Not sure what this appointment will entail.

Mark is fine in himself but his speech is still slurred and I feel we have a dark cloud over us until the cause of this is known....

Anyway, lets end on a positive, Emily had a good night, despite the heat - however it did take us an hour to get her down last night but I am sure all of you had the same experience.....

Roll on it getting cooler soon!

Lots of Love
