Hair loss

Hi all,

It's a very common problem which tends to peak 3-4 months after delivery. You should be back to normal within six to twelve months.

The rise in progesterone hormones during pregnancy keeps the hair growing for longer, but after delivery, the progesterone hormones return to normal levels. In some cases, the hair that would have naturally been lost during pregnancy can do so all at once.

Hope this is helpful.

All the time!!

Mine is like this all the time, before, during n after pregnancies!!!!
I do have thick hair n lots of it though so a blessing in a way!!! Hubby gets soo cross when I've hada bath as its everywhere!!!!
Plug would b constantly blocked if I didn't remove it everytime!!!
I'm sure its a hormonal thing that will stop soon eneough! In this heat though I'm sure many are thankful!!!!!

Take care.

Thats funny, Was going to ask the same thing.... I have to properly clean the drain after every shower as so much hair ends up down there it's unbelievable.....

even just tying my hair in a pony tail and I end up with it all in my hands afterwards...........

Luv S (23 tomorrow) & J (3 months tomorrow )

Oh yes

tonnes lol, it was so lovely during my pregnancy too lol

it's a hormonal rise and dip that does it - babies often lsoe hair for the same reason. for them i think i read it's normal for up to 6months afte the birth. Siri has lost alot of her baby hair but new hair is growing in (so cute).

i have to run my fingers through my hair when i am washing it to make sure i get as much loose stuff as possible so i don't clog up the drain when i rinse lol

Loosing tons!!!

Like the other ladies said, you stop loosing hair towards the end of your pregnancy, and start re-loosing it after!!!
Lydia's 6 months, and I'm still loosing TONS of hair!!! I'm surprised that there is still hair left to fall out!!!!
Take care,
xxx.

Yes!

mine is too! i've been getting a bit worried about it to be honest, it's everywhere!! especially when i wash my hair! i went to the hairdressers yesterday and she it's quite normal after childbirth.

Thats good then...

thanks for that, I feel better, my hair was getting a bit 'wedgey' recently so perhaps the loss will make it better

Its too hot already and there is no wind - Emily will be in her nappy after her baby rice at 10am...

Hope you have a good day

xx

Hiya

mine is the same and Sam is giving it a helping hand...yanking my hair is one of his favourites past times!
When did you start Emily on babyrice? I am thinking of starting but not sure how, much when etc. Am scared to start cos don't feel prepared for this weaning lark!

Baby rice

yes, Emily is yanking hair too!!

We started on Saturday with Baby Rice, just one feed a day at the moment and still giving her the normal amount of milk too!

Been using the Cow and Gate Baby Rice and just one spoon of rice to 10 spoons of formula milk but you can make it as runny or gloopy as you like....

Emily has taken to it really well, not sure how much she is having as lots end up down her, round her face but she is taking the spoon and putting in her mouth. Will carry on until probably next week when I will introduce a veggie dish like carrot or parsnip. I am not sure whether to keep to one meal a day still or increase to 2 meals.....

I give her milk to her still at the beginning of the feed then change to baby rice halfway through then back to her milk afterwards - she still takes approx 3 ounces.

You get through lots more clothes, although Emily is only wearing a vest at the moment with this heat we are changing her vest about 3 times a day and we are going thru so many bibs!

Let us know how you get on!

Natalie & Emily xx
