Routine...routine...routine...

Hey girls, hope your all alright and your babies arnt to bothered by this heat!

Rosie is now 4 weeks old she wakes on demand for food and her rountine is normally
9am then 10.30am
2pm then 4pm
7pm then 9pm and then she slept through till 5am (3 nights in a row) then last night she bought her milk back up after her 9pm feed so got her all cleaned and re-dressed in baby grow and then she obviously wanted more food so she went to sleep about 11pm and then woke at 3am and then 8.30am and ive waited for her next feed (10.30am) and shes slept through its now 11ish and im just wondering when will they stick to there routine because the times i listed above shes stuck to most of those times for about a week but it seems to be changing again?

I would wake her to stick to that routine but when i try and do this she wont take her food so i figured it would be best for her just to wake herself?

Hiya,
Well as u know I'm tryin 2 sort sum sort of routine but having 2 wrk round 3 yr old n nursery so a tad difficult!!
Well little on is 3 wk on Friday. Her routine is as follows...
Feeds every 2/3 hours, so frm last nite...
feed at 7pm, then 2 bed,
feed at 2am,
feed at 5.30am,
feed at 7.30am,
feed at 10am,
due feed rnd 1pm,
She is sleepin on n off inbetween day feeds. Waking herself up 4 feeds so just depand feeding now, so much easier.
I do however top her up if she is sick or say she is due a feed round nursery time so she ain't screamin hungry whilst out!!! Wrkin ok at mo but every nite is different. Tends 2 sleep between 6 to 8 hrs b4 1st nite feed so can't complain really.
I wouldn't keep wakin her if she ain't ready she ain't ready! Just play it by ear 4 now hun as u do have sum routine happening which is great.

Take care. mummyand2. xx

hey hun

well, i am a stickler for routine. i got both mine into a fairly strict one at 4 weeks and my oldest, now 16, almost 17 months, is still in his routine now.

i wont go into the finer details of it cos it does obviously vary baby to baby and if we go out during the day, can vary slightly, but he has 2 naps a day and is in bed, asleep by 6.30 - sleeps thro until our alarm goes off in the morning. our daughter has more naps than him during the day, but she too is in bed by 6.30, dream fed at 10, wakes for a feed about 2.30 - 3.00 and then that is it until we are all up again for the day.

just let her guide you and it will work itself out.

love kelly, oliver and emilie

Lydia is 6 months old, and she still isn't in a routine!!!
I still feed her as and when she wants (which is very often in this heat), and she has food when we eat!!!!
I'd let Rosie wake herself, and tell you when she's ready for food!!! She'll probably be more thursty in this heat too!!!
Enjoy a few minutes off!!!
Janice and Lydia,
xxx.
