Want to come off pill

I was on Cilest pill for years and years. Then had a year and half break due to TTC and pregnancy.
Just gone back on it recently (2 weeks ago) as have finished breastfeeding........ but am unbelieveably irritable.
I've realised I've been irritable for years now and I thought it was just me, my personality! But I think its this oill and have only noticed the link because of the break in taking it.

So I want to stop using the pill..... don't really want to try different one as thats just mess about with hormones again.

Wondered what people are using? What do you girls think of the rythmn method or the coil???

Thanks Lea (irritable and moody!!) and Elise (gorgeous and cute) xx

im kinda glad its just not me who it made moody lol because it did effect me really bad and i was a horriable person on the pill, it also made me put on weight. Ive been off the pill for about 3 years now (so much happier in myself and my partner seen a difference). When i had the leaflet of "contraception" after i had baby i just laughed and thought no way, im not going on the pill! BUT all the other ways look horriable and still can have the same side effects so i would really look into it! I still need to book in to discuss with doctor as im not planning on getting pregnant well not anytime in the near future anyway lol!

L & R (4wks 1 day old )

Thx

Thanks for replies - still not sure what to do so prob best to go to see doc
thanks for your suggestions xx

Same here!

OMG, snap! I was on Cilest for about 15 years in the end and I reckon I've been a mardy cow for most of that - it's a wonder I ever managed to get married infact! I didn't really make the link til I came off it aswell!

I went to the docs when Isla was about 10wks intending to have the coil fitted because I also didn't want to go back on it having realised, had made double appt etc etc, and somehow or other I ended up coming away with a prescription for a different pill that I've never actually bothered to collect to this day!!
The appointment was a bit of a whirlwind but I remember feeling quite lectured and patronised and like I'd not done my contraceptive homework or whatever and in the end I just thought "s*d this" and left! (she even wrote down a website address for me to go and read my options!?!).

So we're on faffy condoms for now til I / we can actually be bothered to rethink!

Hope you're both well hun
Love N & Isla (8 months today!) xx

I'm sure me and you live in parallel universes in some ways Nikki!! xx

Haha!!!

I know!! I sometimes think that aswell!!
Also - when you posted the other week aswell about PMT I thought "blimey - we're cycle buddies again" aswell! hehe xx

Me 2. xx

Hi,
Well I'm a bit like this a mo. I was on Depo 4 a long while, came off it n fell pregnant straight away.
After I had baby I went on the Depo again but due 2 heavy bleedin I came off it n had coil fitted. This didn't help so had that out n eventually after hospital visits etc I went on the cilest pill n this was fine.
I was on it a year or so n then came off 2 try 4 another baby. Got pregnant n little one 4 wk old now.
I am wondering wot 2 do this time. Should I go 4 coil or pill again?
I have slimmed rite down though and I'm thinkin that its the pill that helps me plonk weight on again as this happened last time!!!!!! That means I should stay clear n go 4 the coil but just ain't a clue!!!
A friend made me smile as when I asked her she said , "use the withdrawal method!!!" Yep like I'm goin 2 do that. We don't want anymore kids n I wouldn't do that eva!!!! Hubby will have 'the snip' in a few years time but we'r still young so want him 2 wait a few years yet!!!
Good luck n hope u decide on the rite thing. xxx

Pill

Im on marvelon and im fine on it.. i never suffered with PMT.. if i was moody its just cos i was being a miserable cowbag!!!

Maybe see if there are any other pills available for you?
Also it took my body about 2 months to get back to normal after starting the pill.. so it may be worth giving it a bit longer for your body to adjust

Hi lea

I was on the pill for years and was always irritable, I tried different types but always the same so I came off and we use condoms, not the best but don't really fancy any alternatives so condoms it is! Don't know much about rhythm method, be interested to hear if anyone uses it. Be too scared that i'd fall pg again which seems ridiculous after all that time trying! x x x
