2 baby monitors in 1 house?!

Hello ladies,
I'm due to give birth in 3 weeks time. We already have a little boy who is 17 months. We are still using the baby monitor for him and when the new baby's here, they won't be sleeping in the same room, so I'm gonna need a baby monitor as well for baby n#2. So we're gonna have two monitors in the house.
I was wondering what your thoughts were on that one? Is it too much? Are you doing that too? If so, do you have any interferences between the monitors? I don't feel ready to stop using the monitor with my son, i think he's too young still... what do you think? Am I overprotective/overcontrolling?
thanks for your help,
Flo, Etienne 17 months, and 37+1 pink bump

Baby monitors

Highly recommend this one http://safebabymonitors.com/video-baby-monitors.html...... I bought the Intermediate, works really well

Hi

Ahhh, good luck for your impending arrival hun!

When we went on holiday with my brother in law and his wife and baby (6 weeks older than our baby), we had 2 monitors in the house we were renting and they didn't interfere, but they were different makes (although both Tomy).

If you ended up with 2 sets the same though, they should work just fine too as long as they are on different channels.

I don't think it's overprotective at all if you have two, I figure I'll stop using ours when it feels right, and if it doesn't feel right yet I wouldn't rush it.

Love N & Isla (8 months) xx

ellen and i had this very conversation with donna the other day as she is now expecting her second and will have a small age gap.

i have 13 months between my two, my son being the oldest and he still needs listening in on! my son and daughter's bedrooms are next to one another, so i put the monitor either in her room next to the wall that joins to his room, or i put it on the landing between their bedrooms. they are at right angles to one another if you see what i mean, so i put it in the corner as it were.

i find that the monitor picks up both of them just fine, but it is unusual to say the least to hear oliver in the night at all, and tbh, when my little girl wakes in the night, i tend to hear her anyway. the other night i turned the monitor off as i was sending a text and it interferes with the monitor and makes it make a funny noise, forgot to turn it back on and heard her when she cried without it anyway.

love kelly, oliver 17 months today ( ) and emilie, almost 15 weeks
