Brushing little ones teeth?!?

I really need help here. Logan is 21 months and for about three months I have had an awful time trying to brush his teeth. He wants to do it himself bit just bites the tooth brush and doesnt clean them. I have to hold him down whilst he screams, cries and kicks.

Has anyone got any useful tips on how to make it easier on us, lol.

I was just chatting with my hv about this yesterday and she pretty much said as long as they are putting the toothbrush and toothpaste in their mouths not to worry too much. She said that at this age it is more important to get babies used to the routine of brushing morning and night and as they get older they will start to brush more effectively.

I have a special song which I sing while I brush Aidan's teeth and I try to do mine at the same time so he can copy me. Sometime's he lets me have a brush.
