Gaviscon infant, question....

Hi there,
Well my 9 week old( 2 moro!) has been given Gaviscon Infant fron the doctor 2 help with reflux, to help keep her milk down n 2 b less sicky.
Well started her y.day but heres the thing...
she was just starting 2 take 4oz bottles well 4 me and now she is only taking 2oz sum feeds. HV said she may b off her feeds due 2 her havin her 1st jabs y.day also.
Was just wonderin if anyone has any experience of Gaviscon? I was wondering whether she is only taking 2 oz sumtimes as fuller.
She is keeping the feeds down better so does this mean that she is better off?! Abit confused. Will see how she goes. Just worried she mite dip on weight n centile chart again if continues 2 only take small amounts!!!

thanx, mummyand2. xx

Hi

My Lottie had gaviscon when she was little (she is now 15 months!) and to be honest it is quite mild on their little tummies and shouldnt effect feeds.....
Only problem i had is when she was on formula...i already had a formula specially designed for sensitive tums (ie thickened up so less likely to vomit up) and she couldnt suck it through the teat with the gaviscon as well!! I also found the gaviscon didnt make much difference to her vomiting and found the C&Gate comfort range did a better job!
They are all different though and best to try different things really

Take care,

Lou xx

I agree

when Dylan started the Gaviscon it didn't really effect how much he fed although all baies are different ... hope feeding is getting back to normal today

Lou - hope you don't mind me asking but how do you find the C & G comfort range ?? Dylan is really, really sick after any fluid feed or even water / juice etc. He gains weight well so we just get on with it and do loads of washing lol but reading your comment about the comfort range has made me wonder if we should try it??

thanks

t care

Em & Dylan x x x

Hi em......

Sorry took so long to reply :+)
As soon as we went onto comfort range from c&G we didnt change....found it very good and quite gentle on her tum. She was still a little bit sicky but not as bad.
She is on 1yr + c&g now which she loves! (and also cows milk).....big girlie now ;+)

Take care,

Lou xx

Francis

got Baby Gaviscon. It really helped his windy problems and didn't affect his eating at all.
Maybe she's just a bit off x
