help!!

My mum has just told me that she has swine flu! Myself and Emily have been around mum quite alot while i have been off. I have been ill recently, very sore throat, dry cough and feeling generally poo, and emmy has been snotty and has developed an infrequent chesty sounding cough. Mum has been quarinteened (sp) for 2 weeks, my question is this, do i keep a look out for symptoms or wing it and hope that we will all escape it?

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for the replies, Emmy is still snotty and chesty, im improving (yay) my OH reckons that i have had a very mild bout of it (although i doubt it because my immune system is rubbish :lol emmy does not seem to be hot at all, but she is getting a bit arsey about her food, so i think her throat may be bothering her as well.

Hope everyone is well and escapes this horrible virus

Oh no

how scary but maybe you already have it? I'm not sure tho, it's just that back in June when it all first came out my OH got a really bad cold which floored him which was very strange as he never gets colds, in fact he's had 1 in the 10 years we've been together but this took him to his bed. Unfortunately his parents visited from the US and they caught it too (OH caught it from work) and Sam also got it. Sam was running a temp and was snotty and chesty. The doc diagnosed him with a chest infection and gave him antibiotics which to be honest did nothing and just as I due to take him back to doc he improved so we did wonder after if it was the dreaded swine flu. I caught it but didn't feel as bad as the others did, spent one day in bed but I work in a hospital so actually thing my immunity is quite high to things.

Anyway, who knows? But if I was you, just keep your eyes out for high fevers with you and Emily and go from there.

Hope you're feeling better soon x x x

Arghhh!

what a nightmare!

from what i have read, with swine flu you feel really really awful more or less straight away, just keep an eye on yourself and Emily, my friends husband had it recently and my friend nor her son got it, she just made sure she used dettol on everything!

Hope you feel better soon
