Anyone had 2 or more c-sections?

When you had your second, did you elect for it, and were they OK about you doing that, or were you encouraged (made?!) to try VBAC first?

Thanks

Hey

Obviously i have only had one at the moment, mine was emergency c section.

When signing my off the midwife mentioned that i would be put under consultant care straight away, which i was anyway and that i would be told to try naturally if we decided to have another one as my stomach was already cut into 2 years before for a large ovarian cyst. i asked if this would effect how many sections i could have and she said no.

i had quite a bad time in labour before my section, when they did the section was a relief. i would probably try natural next time as i would have megan to look after, saying that, i got up the night of my section, the midwives told me not too but in the end they helped me up as they realised i was going to get up anyway.

Hi

Hi Nikki

I had an elective section 1st time as my daughter was breech, when i went for my booking apt 2nd time round i automaticly put under consultant care and when i saw the consultant they said i could have another section if i wanted but they advised me to go for VBAC because if you have 2 sections you will more than likely to have a 3rd (if u go for number 3!!).

Once you have had a section you cant be induced the only thing they can do and did for me is break your waters to see if it gets things going. I was desperate to have a natural birth so was very keen to give it a go. I had my son naturally and although i had a very good c section experience i would def go natural again just because of the recovery as second time round you have an older child to look after as well as yourself and a newborn!

Hope this helps

Hi nikki

I've obviously only had one so far but the midwife said that i'd automatically be offered an elective the next time. She told me when she was signing me off and expected me to say 'next time? are you mad...never again!' but actually I found the c section a pretty good exp and I'd be happy to have another, mainly cos I'm a wuss and scared of pain! x x x
