Teething

im pretty sure Rosie is teething now because she has had a bad day Saturday crying for notthing, she wouldnt settle and she was a bit fussy with her bottles and wouldnt take a dummy and she didnt have a high temp. Then Sunday was a bit better she wasnt so bad but i have a teething stick which i rubbed on her gums (this morning -monday) and she loved it so i went and bought some ashton and parsons powder and some dentinox gel (just encase the powder doesnt help) but it says to put half the powder on her tounge which i have done (a bit difficult lol) and within 5mins she calmed down, took the rest of her bottle and is asleep now .

I for one never realised babies teeth so early...i read the dentinox leaflet and apparently they start teething whilst in the womb? ekk!

Does anyone use the ashton and parson powder and is there an easier way to put into the mouth? and how quick did it work for ur LO's?

Hey lucy

Dylan started teething at 11 weeks and I also use the powders ... they do seem to work and once i've given him the powder he actually takes his hands out of his mouth for a while bless him .. I dampen my finger so that the powder sticks and then put it straight on his tongue .. seem to work

Hope Rosie has had a better few days ..

t care
Em & Dylan 5 mnths ( still no bl**dy teeth lol) x x

Archie too

I was wondering this of Archie. Since the end of last week he has been dribbling a lot and sucking his fist a lot, I didnt know babies teethed this young either!! Im hoping it might be why hes a bit bunged up in the poop department, and this will hopefully clear up once hes stopped teething?!

I havnt used Ashton&Parsons powder but the Dentinox gel seems to work ok!

Adele+Archie

yeah could be why he is bunged up, but the orange juice should help him.. well i hope it does because its horriable seeing them constipated!

Teething.....

Hi there,

Rosie is starting early. We had the same problems with Emily at the weekend and she is coming up for 6 months. She was grizzly, biting on everything and she has pooed constantly and they are quite splattery. As a result of that she has a sore nappy rash which is clearing up now.

So we have tried the Ashtons Powder, the only way we do it is pop it on a little spoon first then tip it in. The first time we used it Emily calmed down and she slept well on Saturday night. However last night was not so successful and she kept waking up and crying. We did only use half so perhaps we will use a whole sachet tonight.

She is not herself, she normally never cries and she has been grizzly all afternoon. She has not slept well last night (nor did we) or today really so probably really tired and her bum is still a bit sore. Also, I have been finding today hard as I am tired and we have not had a day like this for a long time.

Will give her a whole sachet tonight to see if this helps her sleep as the powder is meant to help settle tummies and poo too. She does not have a temperature though......

Babies teethe at anything apparently, some are born with teeth.......

What is the teething stick you are using. I have bonjela but not used it yet.....

Yes Rosie has been pooing loads, we just put it down to changing over to cow and gate because she was constipated on SMA.

Aw poor Emily and u 2 for all sleepless nights...ekk teething is horriable!! Usally Rosie is contented, only time she may cry is when she fights her sleep or when shes hungry so when ive ran out of ideas its like "agghhh help!"... seeing HV Thurs so i will be asking alot of questions.

The teething stick i use was from mothercare summer infant starter kit thing, heres the link... http://www.mothercare.com/Summer-Infant-babycare-starter -set/dp/B000M4ZJ1Y/sr=1-7/qid=1249935266/ref=sr_1_7/279-5577172-0462517?_encoding= UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=427740 41&mcb=core

im pretty sure u can buy the teether seperate?

Hope u and Emily are ok apart from the teething.

Hey

Hi Lucy,

Today we are sooo much better. Emily went to bed at 7pm well and we woke her for her 10pm feed then cleaned her up, popped some sudacream on her bum and gave her a whole sachet of the powder. She slept until 5.30am and I changed her then and popped her back in her cot and she just played until feeding time of 7am so such an improvement.

She seems her normal self today so i am wondering if she just had an upset tummy and she was not bothered by her gums - who knows......

Got the teethers in the fridge and the muslin in the freezer just in case we need it!

Doesnt the day go better when you have had a better nights sleep

Thanks
Natalie & Emily xx

Hey hun

Rosie is about the same age Acey was when he started and i didnt realise how young they could start with it either lol. Poor babies they dont have an easy time of it do they?

I found with the powders that it was easier to pour it onto a spoon and then give them it that way. Alot less fiddley lol.

Hope Rosie doesnt have too much bother with teething, she might sale through it. Acey got his first two at just under 4 months (by just under i mean a few days lol) Hope its not long before Rosies make an appearance too.

TC, Lu & Acey (11 months today) & Faryn Bump (33+3weeks) xxxxx
