Hey hun

I haven't experienced that hun but just wanted to say I asked about having a smear done when I was 18 and was told no, because I wasn't 25+ or have had any children.

When I went to the hospital with a bleed in this pregnancy I was asked if I had ever had a smear and they told me that I should have had one, I am 23 now.

You are defo allowed a smear as you have given birth, I don't know why age should make a difference or having a child, I think they are trying to lower the age restriction.

Love Toni, Rhys (15months) and Lily-Rose bump (33+6) x x x

Thanks guys x

Well ive bee told by some of my family and ive also read it and when i had olivia i went for my check and she said i cudnt have one till i was 25..but i have had 2 done before at the family planning...but deff gna get it checked..yeah ive had PID before ( pelvic inflammotory disease) was nothin serious just had some medication but it wasnt like this as i didnt even know i had it. I'll let u knw how i went on thanks xx

I had this a few days after i gave birth to Rosie... i dont wear tampons but i can understand what u mean... but if u havent recently given birth then i would get it checked out, maybe u may have an infection / Thrush? sometimes it can become inflamed aswell.

I would go and see your doctor... also im not allowed a smear because im only 21 and i have to wait untill im 25! silly really!!

Hey

Hey hun. I have never experienced this before. But like Elizabeth said, it's best to check it out at the docs.
I'm sure everything will be fine though, but it's best to keep your mind at rest.

We aren't allowed smear tests either until we are 25. Well I had one when I had Daisy and I was 17. But I haven't been offered one since. I should imagine that if you have reason to worry they will give you one especially because you have had a baby.

Good luck.

Love kirsti daisy (3) and 29+4 yellow bump.xx

Hi hun

i haven't but it sounds like an inflammation of some sort, best thing is to go to the docs and get it checked. and as soon as poss in case it's an infection. sure it's nothing to worry about though.

and as for smear tests - i have always been told you have a right (and should get them done) to smear tests from 18, every 3 years, unless there are any abnormal cells in which case they are done every 6 months to a year. OR from when you are sexually active. whichever is the younger age.
especially since you have had a baby - you most definitely have the right to one.
who told you that you weren't allowed?

just call the docs and make an appointment and say it is for a smear test. if they say you can't have one (which i highly doubt) then call a family clinic and arrange one there - i have vague memories that they offer stuff liek that? sorry i can't remember, the system is very different here.

take care hun
hugs
