Feeding

I havent had chance to speak with HV's about Rosie's feed because last time i went to weighing they didnt have time to stop and ask how things were because there were so many people there so wondered if any of u could help?

Rosie drinks....

8am - 8oz
11am - 6oz
3pm - 6oz
and
7pm - 6oz (just takes 3 or 4oz)

She doesnt always take the whole 6oz bottles through the day sometimes only 3 or 4oz but she always takes the 8oz in the morning and im sure its because shes just gone the whole night from 8pm - 8am with no feed so shes more hungry in mornings. Its like in the day she gets bored of drinking her milk, monday she was very grumpy all day and one bottle she really didnt want the milk but she wanted water?, we switch over half way through her drinking the water over to her milk bottle but she spat it out it was really strange?, any ideas why she would do that? Im on cow and gate and shes been fine on it, but some days more now then before, she just doesnt take the whole 6oz bottles. She loves watching us eat, she really stares at us and its almost like shes licking her lips lol, she had her 2nd injections friday so maybe this may be part of why shes a bit off of it at the moment?

Feeds

Hi Lucy,

Sometimes they do have an 'off day' when they don't drink very much and get faffy Silly question but is the milk the right temperature, we had this problem with Emily sometimes and I made it a bit warmer and she drank it.

How much does Rosie drink in total now? Bit early for weaning but can you call your HV and get your questions answered. They really should make time for everyone at these visits.

Hey hun

Sorry, Im not going to be any good but I hate seeing posts un-answered!!

As long as Rosie is gaining enough weight I wouldnt worry too much, she will take what she needs and spit out the rest (which is what Ive decided Archie is doing)

As for weaning, (I think Ive written this 3 times....lol...) Every baby is different, Ive been adviced to do it no earlier then 4 months and to try and leave it till 6 months, Rosie will tell you what she wants and if your HV says its ok to wean then they know best! xx

Sorry, this is crap!!

Adele xx
