small baby still...

Hi all,
Ain't been on 4 a while, hope all r ok.
Well had baby weighed yesterday, she is now 12 week n 4 days old.
She is still only 10lb 13 and a half. She had put on 6 oz in 2 week. She is on gaviscon as has bad reflux. She has gained n hasn't yet dipped on centile chart but HV keepin an eye on it.
I asked why it was happenin n she said becoz she is bringin up milk she isn't gettin all the nutrients. I'm soo fed up with it. She is small but content. She only has 4 oz bottles still. All the others babies on here her age r 13 odd lb n have 6oz bottles n r thriving.
It makes me feel a bit like a failure. Any 1 else had this?

You arent a failure at all, every baby is different, she is hapy and contented thats all you need to care about.

Megan has stopped bringing so much milk up now, but her weight seems to have changed as she has dropped a little on the chart, its made me really worry, it had been 2 weeks since i had her weighed, she was 13lb 3oz and expected her to be 14lb something and she is only 13lb 7oz. the hv has told me to put her on baby rice now, she seems to be enjoying it and she is liking it and getting a better nights sleep so she must need it already.

Hope the reflux gets better

Ben is now 18 weeks and still weighing 13lb 4 oz, he is on the infant gaviscon and it is brilliant for him. He only put 5oz on in the last 2 weeks but he is happy and healthy so that is all that matters. Look at it this way if she is like Ben her clothes will fit her alot longer ha ha, the only thing that anoys me is when people dont believe his age, we are just getting into 0-3 months clothes at 4 months. Dont worry hun, Ben is just the same xx

Teeny tiny ones

cadene has always been small..... she's put on about 1lb in the last 6 months.... but she's eating, developing and most of all HAPPY.... dont worry yourself hun i only take her to get weighted every other month now because it was stressing me out.... just enjoy her and she will eat what she needs... easier said than done sometimes i know.....! oh and you are not a failure you are a great mum............

Dont be silly you arnt a failure!... babys are so different and its easy to worry and compare them to other babies.

I wouldnt worry aslong as shes gained the weight and is content then there isnt much more u can do, im sure the HV is keeping her eye on it just encase it does drop. Its in your notes that she has reflux so im sure they have no need to worry. Is she still bringing her milk back up on gaviscon?

Well...

Well she isn't 2 bad on the gaviscon.
Still brings bits of milk up but not like she was doing. Every baby is sick a bit though arent they?
Sumtimes its just after spill but sumtimes its cottage cheese type milk!!!!
Alot better on the gaviscon though, although she is still constipated so goin round in circles with it all!!!!!

don't worry, she just petite, she's gaining so she must be ok. My friend's little girl has always been tiny and in fact she is a year and a day older than Sam and is only a couple of pounds heavier and a few inches taller! She is perfectly healthy, she's just a little dot!
Maybe when her reflux settles she'll gain a little faster but don't worry, she's thriving and you are not a failure x

I know I shouldn't worry but its always in the back of my mine.
Hate clinic day!!!! Always sumthing 4 me 2 worry about!
My 1st baby was quite small n still is a tot really! Shes nearly 4 n just starting 2 grow nicely! She weighs 2 and a half stone now!
Hopefully once she starts weaning she will gain sufficent weight. Heres hoping anyway!!!
