My 19 months old has a squint

Hi ladies,
Maybe you can help me a bit.
A couple of months ago at the baby clinic, my HV noticed that my then 17 months old boy might have a squint in his left eye. I couldn't see it myself nor could my husband. The HV just told us to keep an eye on it especially because my husband had a lazy eye when he was a small kid and had to have surgery to correct it.
Now over the past two dayswe've really noticed it so I am taking my son to the doc tomorrow to get a referral to have this checked.
I'm just wondering if any of you mums have had a toddler with this problem and if you'd share your experience because I'm a bit upset about it all.
