Were planning on taking Rosie swimming soon as she has had her 2nd injections... ive seen a few swimming costumes but ive heared that the wet suit type ones are better as they keep the heat in? A bit confussed so was wondering what u ladies do for ur babies/toddlers?

I have just brought a swimsuit from ebay. bnwt for £3.69 with postage included so well pleased!
I already have sum huggies disposable swim nappies (which were fine 4 oldest child so will be trying again this time)
I have one of the rubber rings which u place baby in the seat as well which was good also!! Cant wait!!!

Thanks for replies

I bought rosie happy swimmers and a swim suit £1.70 BARGIN lol managed to pick the last 3-6month one up in tesco, we also looked at vacuums etc so we put our basket down so we could test the vacuum and some tesco worked took the basket and decided to start putting all the stuff back on the shelfs hah so i was really angry because i looked in debenhams, boots, mothercare EVERYWHERE and found swim suits but none left in 3-6months and when i found this one i was really happy and then when we turnt round and we couldnt find the basket i was fumming! But we got it back and Rosie is going swimming tomorrow - heh cant wait!!! Is a happy swimmer enough for her? im scared its going to leak?

Hope u ladies are wellxx

Happy swimmer

Hi there,

Did you say you got your happy swimmer etc from tescos???? How much was it coz Water Babies charge £8.99, think I might take a look at their website......

According to the waterbabies t&c's they want a happy swimmer on and a normal nappy underneath.

Let us know hoe you get on!

Swimming

Hi there,

We are taking Emily to Waterbabies, it starts next Saturday. She has never been before so it will be interesting to see how she gets on. I need to buy a 'Happy Nappy' from the WaterBabies website.

Will let you know how we get on!!

aw i have been looking into that, was chatting to someone last night about water babies and her child has been since she was a baby and now shes 2 and she says "its exspensive, but well worth the money" heh!! I would love to take rosie to that.

Yeah let me know how u get on

Waterbabies

Yes it is expensive, we paid £112 for 10 weeks but apparently swimming or waterbabies are one of the top 2 developmental skills for babies. We have not committed to the 40 week term but only one term and then Mark and I will take Emily ourselves once we have grasped the basics and Emily is comfortable with the water.

How did you get on today, please let me know how you got on. Saw your post on FB.

Me 2...

Hiya hun,
Well I am waiting 4 a day when both me n hubby can take the kids swimming.
I haven't yet got a swimsuit 4 baby but I do have the all in ones 4 my 4 yr old. Shes had swimsuits as well but we find the all in ones look better n fit longer! Will be looking on the sale rails 4 one now though!
This time of year they cum rite down in price as its the end of the holiday season! Happy shopping hun!!!

just to let you know hun, you no longer have to wait for injections. with both my babies, the HVs and midwives have advised me to take them as soon as i felt confident doing so, which for both of mine has been at 7 weeks.

i use the little swimsuits as i do think that they keep them a bit warmer. also, if you do take them to the beach/on holiday at any point, and buy one of those suits from mothercare/next/boots etc, then they have spf50 sun protection. obviously i still cake them in suncream, although it is good to know that they have that extra protection from their suit.

have fun!
kelly, oliver nearly 19 months and emilie, 22 weeks today (or is it 23?!)
xx
