Diarrhoea with teething??

I've read conflicting things about this. Sam has had other def symptoms of teething this week, flushed cheek, drooling, rubbing ear etc and over the past few days he's had diarrhoea too. He seems well so don't think it warrants visit to docs yet but just wondered who elses babies had had diarrhoea when teething?

Yep,,

it is common to have a runny bum when teething, just keep an eye on it and make sure Sam's bum is clean as we had this problem a few weeks ago and Emily had developed an awful nappy rash which caused her alot of upset. Just keep an eye on it, perhaps if he still has the runny bum by Monday to call the Dr's or HV to be on the safe side. Keep offering the juice and water. Try Ashtons Powder if you have it as this helps. It helped Emily get to sleep.

Hope it gets better soon!

P.s.

apparently egg white is good for nappy rash, it causes a barrier when dry.......... not tried it myself yet!

Hiya

Sorry started to reply to this yest but my friend turned up so dodn't get chance to finish post. Yes, I've heard of egg white thing, makes sense i think but haven't actually tried it.

Sam still has runny bum, rang doc today and she said as he is otherwise well then it is teething altho it's not officially recognised as a teething symptom all 3 of her kids were the same. she prescribed some cow and gate soya formula as the cow's milk in his ordinary one can aggravate it and said to lay off dairy for a few days...poor Sam, he loves his yoghurts. Anyway, we've tried twice with the soya milk and he hates it! Refused to drink so ended up back on the aptamil already so I'll maybehave to ring her back. Really hope some teeth appear soon, poor baby.

How long did Emily's runny bum last for and have her teeth come thru yet?

Morning...

Sorry to hear that Sam still has a runny bum!

I go on about Ashtons but it does work and it resolves the 'affects of teething, i.e. runny bum and tummy upsets'. Emily had a runny bum for about 2-3 days and was pooing lots like 8 times a day which is why we were changing her through the night and she had a nappy rash, was caused her more upset than the runny bum. We tried Ashtons two nights before her bedtime and it did help her sleep through.........

No teeth yet, everyone around me (well their babies) seem to have teeth popping up but nothing with us. She is sucking her mouth in alot (like gurning!) so I guess they are causing her a little grief but not too much.

Hope Sam gets better soon !!

Poo report!

It was normal first thing but has returned to slightly runny later today. We do have Ashtons but I only give it now and then, might start giving it in morn and before bed, is that what you do?

No teeth for Sam either, I guess in theory this could go on for a while tho

sorry for delightful post!

xx

Forgot to say...

he had a purple poo today after his blueberry breakfast!!

Thought you'd like to know that for some reason!

Poo obsessed Rach! x

Oohh nice....

purple eh, thats a different one!!

we have greens and oranges but no purple yet!

How is his teeth today?

Love Natalie x

Ha ha

still hiding beneath his gums, little blighters! He seems fine tho and and actually his teething symptoms seem to be less obvious than they have been, i have a feeling this could go on for a while! x
