Weaning worries

Hi guys

I'm currently trying to wean Traivys but he has gone from taking some solids to refusing any and getting quite agitiated. I'm not gonna force him is this normal. Shall I stop and try again in a couple of weeks (maybe just keep up with the breakfast)

ALso he seemed very vacant tonight. Nither of us got any sleep last night as he was very restless all night so my mum has got him for me so I can get some sleep and I'm doing a car boot in the morning. My mum also said he was perspiring this evening but no tempreture. I'm just a little worried as my baby book says that being listless and off your food could be a sign of illness. He is still drinking his bottle though.

Any help gratefully received girls

Many thanks in advance

Love Nikki & Traivys 18+2 weeks xx

Hi hun

I found this with Holly at first, I waited until she was 6 months because she seemed happy enough with milk, and even then it was a while before she would take more than a mouthful or two. She was quite enthusiastic at first but then suddenly after a few days she refused to have any more. I left her for a week or so and started again and she was fine after that. I think each baby is different and it is very confusing that the guidelines and advice out there all seem to contradict each other!! I was getting stressed that Holly would not have textured / lumpy food at 7 months because everything I read said that she should be and I was convinced I was doing something wrong. I tried introducing texture and lumps at around 7 1/2 months and she would not have it, so I waited 2 weeks and tried again and had no problems. I would say that as long as he is still taking all his milk feeds then not to worry about his appetite, the amount of solids they have at first is so small and he will still be reliant on mostly milk for a quite a while until he is having substantial amounts of solids each day. Could be he is just not ready for it yet or that his tummy is just getting used to it. All you can do is either keep offering him a little bit until he is more receptive or leave off weaning for a couple of weeks and try again. He will soon take it when he is ready It's all so confusing this weaning isn ... so much simpler when it's just milk!!

Holly has been very restless the last few nights - I think it's partly where the weather is changing it has been quite an abrupt change here and the temperature has dropped quite a bit!

Tons of love and hugs.

Rach xx + Holly 8 months

Ahhh thanks rach

That sounds like really good advice hun I'll try leaving it for a bit, he's still drinking all his bottles (am gonna put him on all hungry baby now instead of just morning and night) and then try again in a few weeks.

Wow I cant believe Holly is 8 months already - hasn ... gone quickly hunni?

Lots of Love
