Hiya,
Yep they say;
# When they are interested n looking at you eating,
# Start waking in night if normally sleep through,
# If feeds don't seem 2 b satisfying them n they cry after feeds or want more,
Ask ur HV as sumtimes they tell u whether u should start or not, but its ur own choice really. If u think its time then give it a go!!!!
Good luck!!

Hi hun

just about to rush out, so quick reply...

they need to be able to grasp food and bring it to their mouths
they need to be interested in it
the tongue reflex that automatically pushes everything out of their mouths has to be gone
they need to be able to sit up without support - or with very ilttle
and very important - full head control
and also the ability to say no to more food - otherwise they can't self-regulate with solids

we also noticed that siri was dribbling a great deal when watching us eat

them waking in the night is not a reason hun, they need to have all the signals so that you know their little guts are ready to digest food - otherwise they can get lots of problems, allergies etc, later in life.
she could be going through a growth spurt. and babies change their patterns all the time.

if she is asking for more milk - give her that. they get most of their nutrition from milk for most of their first year - sometimes more.

have to run
hugs
elizabeth & siri
