Advice needed please

Hope you dont mind me gatecrashing from Expecting but im looking for some advice and since youve all been pregnant yourselves i wondered if any of you could help.

Im currently 31 weeks pregnant and have no energy and im constantly tired. With my other pregnancies i was tired but this time round its really extreme. Its got to the stage were i cant stand up for more than a few minutes and im really struggling to even walk my son to school. I cant stand up to iron or cook and i am having to rely on my OH for so much. My house is starting to look like a bombs hit it as i cant keep up with the house work.

Ive had my iron levels checked and they are 10.3 which is a lot higher than in previous pregnancies so i doubt its that that is making me feel so tired. Ive also been tested for gestational diabetes as this can cause tiredness, and the results came back ok. Im currently living on Lucozade to try to boost my energy which to be honest isnt really helping.

Im sleeping fairly well and getting plenty of it and also i dont work so its not like im over doing things. Any suggestions on how to perk myself up would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Katie,
Sorry to hear your feeling so rubbish, ask your doctor for a thyroid function test, as if you have an underactive thyroid, it makes you REALLY tired, no energy. i had this after i had my daughter and am on meds noe for the rest of my life

Hope this help

I was

going to say anaemia but if your iron levels are ok then i'm not sure! How long ago were they taken??? Levels can fluctuate quite a lot so worth checking again if they were tests from earlier in pregnancy.

It could also be a thyroid problem so you could ask for that to be checked up on??

Great name by the way!! My 4th is a Jessica!!

Hope you get some energy soon XXXXX
