First jags

My 2 month old is having his first jags tomorrow and I am terrified. The HV told me to have calpol in just incase he has a temperature. My OH works shifts and he is nightshift at the moment so if he does get a temperature I will have to handle it myself.

How did everyone else cope with the babies jags,

Big relief

Took the wee man for his jags and he screamed when he got the injection but he calmed down before he had even left the exam room. He slept most of the evening and has just been amazing.

I ended up in tears but he has been soo brave, I can't believe how luck I am with such a calm and placid baby.

Awww, bless

Sorry, i'm a bit late in replying to this but just thought I'd add that my Sam was the same, quick cry then all over with and he has been the same with all the other jabs but I remember especially with the first that he got a bit of a temp the next day but was easily solved with calpol! Hope James is ok today, he sounds gorgeous x

Archie reacted really bad too his.
He cried a little just after, then slept, he had his lunchtime bottle then slept for about half hour, then he woke screaming and I could do nothing to sooth him, he had a temp too so I stripped him off and cuddled him until he dropped off, he wok for his early eve bottle and sicked it straight back up and didnt stop being sick so I rang NHS direct who said to give him his B4 bed bottle if he kept it down then he would prob be fine if he sicked it up to got yo the hosp!! Luckily he kept it down!

Hes got his second lot next week and I am dreading it!! I did give him Calpol before and again after but I dont think it did much for him!!

Im sure James will be fine tho hun
GoodLuck

Hey hunni

Its much worse for us than it is for them. I was really nervous as I have a terible needle phobia and I'm determined no to pass it onto my son. Traivys has had all of his now until his first birthday and he was fine. Yes he cried but lots of cuddles and kisses soon stopped those tears. He had calpol after the first 2 times but didn't even need that for the last ones.

Best of luck hunni

Love Nikki & Traivys nearly 20 weeks xx

Hey hun

The first jabs for me were the hardest to watch because it seems cruel but it's for the best for your little 'un. I would defo recommend calpol just incase but to be honest ever baby reacts different to having injections.

My son was fine temperature wise with all his jabs except his MMR at 13 months, he just had a 10 second cry when he had his jabs then it was like nothing had happened. Just keep an eye on your little one afterwards but I'm sure you will both be fine.

Good luck for tomorrow

Love Toni, Rhys (16months) and Lily bump (37+5wks) x x x
