Hmmmm weaning help needed please!!

Hiya all ive started weaning yasmin, checked with doctor first and she said its fine. Bu im not sure how exact,y to go about it, should i try and get her into a routine (i.e breakfast, lunch and dinner) i was thinking of just giving her some baby porridge or rice in the morning as breakfast to get her used to it then gradually adding lunch and dinner in and also what about the bottle feeding how do i bottle feed around the weaning. I know i should know 2nd time around lol but ive totally forgotten how i went about it first time round! ive tried her with baby rice which she ate up no problem, and ive also tried her with hipp organic apple and pear which she pulled a disgusted looking face at the first spoonfull but now shes lapping it up no problem, but i think its kind of messed up her routine with the bottle?? not sure bit confused if im doing it all right!!!

all advice appreciated!!!!

Hey

Well Megan is still a bit young but the hv told me to try her on baby rice, so she has 2 to 3 spoons at 5pm as thats when its quietest and she is wide awake, obv once she is over 16 weeks will look at giving her more throughout the day, the hv told me to give in between feeds, so megans feeding routine is 8, 12, 4, and then 10pm (i wake her up for this one) . so will be looking at giving her some porridge at 9, some kind of food at 1, again at 5 and depending on how she gets on and if she is awake at 8, before her bottle at 10.

Sorry cant be more help though, i have my weaning talk soon so will let you know if they say anything that may help you

Hi hun

Well I'm in the process of weaning too andd my friend who has a 3 year old and a 9 month old said that if your bottle routine is say every 4 hours so 7am 11am 3pm and 7pm, then do solids at 9am 1pm and 5pm and give then their bottles as normal. She said you can water down food with their milk out of the next bottle if needed then offer them the rest of the bottle. They may not take it all but will take what they need then obviously, hopefully they will sleep through. I've tried this but traivys is having some constipation troubles so I've gone back to 9am and 5pm. Baby rice with his milk or baby porridge and then something like organic sweet potato or pear mixed with his milk.

Good luck hunni - let meknow how you get on

Love Nikki & Traivys xx
