8wk old with sore wind

Hi Guys,

Not been on for a while- really got my hands full with Calum... poor wee soul. Hope everyone is doing well and little ones are coming along nicely!!

Well to start from the beginning for those that have missed my previous posts from 2wks old Calum has been screaming loads so was told he had colic... started on infacol which didn't work for long so is now on colief. We also bought Dr. Browns bottles which are excellent. A few wks later I took him to the doc again as he was fighting off his bottle even though he was hungry and feeding was a nightmare. So we got baby gaviscon for him which has helped but things are still not 100%.

Just the past week I have started to notice that Calum is crying loads when he is passing wind through his bottom- he squirms loads during a feed aswell. In the past few days his nappies are never dirty until we are changing and wiping his bum then out it comes!! He doesn't seem to be in much pain at this point- but does push hard! Loads come out too- which is good!

Colic massaging is helping as we stopped it for a few days and then started again last night and the amount of bottom burps were fantastic- but still sore for him!

Has anyone else experienced this?? Is it all part of the colic/refulx problems?? I'm really worried about him as the wind wakes him up sometimes too.

Also, he is finding it hard to get himself to sleep and sometimes we have a screaming match before hand. Any advice??

Thanks for reading and for any advice you can give! I'm very, very tired!!

I know

Hi
I had similar problems with Ashira until she was about 11 weeks old. She was breastfed and whenever she was feeding (90% of the time), she seemed to fight it and cry and squirm - it brought me to tears more than once! I heard her belly making noises etc and nothing helped. We tried Infacol and Gripe Water. Gripe Water helped sometimes. The doctor said all we could do it wait...so that is what we did and it eventually got better. I also had a strong let-down which made it worse. And yes, wind caused her pain, too.

All the best and I hope it improves for you soon

Hi hunni

My heart goes out to you hun. My Traivys suffered terribly with colic. Try vaseline round the opening of his bottom. Also I cannot recommend highly enough taking your baby to a cranial osteopath. It really did wonders for Traivys. I live in Epsom Surrey so if you are near me I can pass on his number if not you can google it hun

COlief and Dr Browns is great. I still use both and Traivys is 20 weeks now

Love Nikki & Traivys xx
