Well firstylt just wna say congrats to Lulu on the birth of Faryn shes gorgeous! xxxxx

Right...Livvys nearly 18 month and she throws really bad tempers, if she cant get what she wants then she screams, hits ppl, n throws a paddy on the floor, so now im thinking how do i stop this?
i cnt put her on the naughty step because i tried that and she just sits there appily all the time now!! lol.
And maybe shes too young for tht anyway lol.
Shes really clingy to me too, and if she cnt get what she wants she will throw a paddy and then come crying to me and i more than not do pick her up...

I agree

that naughty step probably isn't the right thing at this age. I would try as much as possible to ignore tantrums, ie. walk away and do something else. Just make sure she knows you have understood her but are saying no! When she then calms down enough to come to you then I would try to distract her with another toy or something. The key thing is to not give in and give her what she wanted but couldn't have then she will learn that the tantrums don't work!!

Distraction is the main weapon you have at this age!! She will be very easily distracted if you get her to calm down first!! Have some emergency activities like saucepan and wooden spoon, treasure box (ie. box with special things like wash puffs, shiny spoons, keys etc. whatever you know she will like!), painting, favourite video etc. Then you will be able to go to the distraction straight away and soon be back on task yourself!!

Good luck!!

Love Tracey xxxx

Better she gets it all out of her system now!
