Had a right old week

Rosie has been off her food, screaming between bottles like she doesnt want it, teething, being sick sometimes on the evening! So i took her to doctors Friday and explained everything but rosie decided to gurgle, smile and growl at the doctor so the doctor said she seems very happy now! She listened to her chest and felt her stomach which was all ok, she reacons she was having "an off week" but thinks it may be reflux. She also advised me to feed her little and often. Well rosie has stuck to a routine of 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm and 7pm (bedtime) we've had this routine for a while now and i just know to get her bottle ready for these times but since the doctor mentioned about feeding little and often i thought well maybe she isnt hungry at these times and i think she is because its "her routine" so ive only been feeding her when she has shown signs of feeding which is hard noticing it when she is teething! but she is taking mostly all of her feeds now she still screaming a little when feeding but i think she has found her voice so at the moment she loves screaming and growling. She has been waking at 5am now for an extra feed so i have a feeling she is ready for weaning but im going to speak wit HV tomorrow as instructed by doctor so i have plenty to discuss with them!

Im feeling better, i think it may have been a tummy bug or my IBS from all the stress of not knowing whats wrong with rosie and just genral stuff.

My mum wanted to give me a break so my parents had her sleep (for first time) on saturday... so we decided to go to cinema and resturant - well we went to a chinese resturant all ok untill half way thru my stomach started killin me so i just sat and ate notthing else, we decided not to go to cinema because i wanted to get home, but on the way home we stopped of at tesco for a dvd as my stomach stopped hurting, well i went into tesco but had to rush back to car as my stomach started hurting - i cried as i hate feeling like it, my IBS never flared up when i was pregnant it was the best i felt but if im out and i eat something and my stomach just twinges with pain i got to go home as i cant stay out any longer because i know i will be rushing to the toilet every 5mins! So the night we have money and time to go out and have a nice meal this happens so i was angry with myself... but had a nice sleep and couldnt wait to pick rosie up .

I will let u know what the HV says

How are all you and ur little ones?

Hey, Thanks for ur replies...

I went to HV and she seems to think its reflux and teething which is bothering Rosie. She said to go back to doctors next week, so i have an appoitment with the doctor monday and im pretty sure they will prescribe gaviscon. Im not sticking to the routine she got herself into now im just feeding when she asks for it which is working perfect she feeds like 4 / 5hours now and takes the 7oz, i think i got carried away with the routine but now she seems happier. Still bought her feed up last night but tonight she has gone to bed on 2oz of milk because she was very tierd.

I also asked about weaning and she said well give gaviscon a try if doctor prescribes it and if u feel she wants baby rice then u can give it to her .

hope u ladies and babies are well

Hey

Sounds like your having a right time, lots of hugs.

Glad Rosie is getting a little better, I really hope it isnt reflux, or if it is you have a decent doctor. I have now decided im not going to give megan any more meds, im not risking it, she doesnt scream that much anymore, but her being sick gets us down all the time, but the reactions to meds is worse.

Even with the pain sounds like you had a nice night in, its really hard leaving them isnt it? i went to blackpool on saturday but had to leave megan behind, was so hard and i felt so sad everytime i saw someone with their babies, but it did me and lee a lot of good, we had hit a bad patch but spending time together worked.

Good luck with the hv, megan has now moved onto a few different flavour porridges and fruit purees, she loves banana and carrots too, messy messy but so much fun.

Take care

Hi!

Hey Hun,

How old is Rosie?? My baby has reflux- was diagnosed about 4wks(I think) and was prescribed baby gaviscon for in his bottles which helps. I used to feed him every 3hrs but I found that he struggled to take his bottles and wakened every 3hrs at night too. After reading someone elses post that switching to every 4hrs worked better for her baby I thought I'd try it and saw a big difference in Calum. He finnishes most of his bottles now- although it does take some time and only wakes once at night now.

Hope she feels better soon- it really is horrible to watch them go through it!

Hey

about to go to bed but felt I had to reply to your message..

Your IBS, this is caused mainly by stress and probably coz Rosie is not right you are getting a little stressed out and causing discomfort.

Have a good chat with you HV to see what they say.

Let us know in the morning hunny!

Lots of Love
Natalie & Emily xx
