Hi Katy,

Emily is 7 months and she does the following:-

Play in her inflatiable jungle gym (although she will be crawling out of this soon)
Under Lottie Playmat
Sits on Mat and plays with toy with Cbeebies on
We now have a door bouncer so she goes in that

We do Baby Sensory once a week and Waterbabies once a week plus we go out for walks see grandparents or go to sainsburys or town shopping.

I try to read Emily books but at the moment it becomes a grabbing exercise as Emily wants to eat the book rather than look at the pictures.

Sometimes I feel we have 'groundhog' days but I try and get out of the house most days otherwise it can get a bit much.

Anyway gotta go, off to Baby Sensory in a mo and need to brush my teeth and hair!!

Love Natalie & Emily x

Hey

If I am staying in, I usually

Put the playmat out, let her roll around.
Read Books
Make up stories with all the teddies with different voices
Put music on and sing and dance to her and with her
Hand puppets
Take her round the house with me if i have to get things done and explain to her what im doing, just so she can hear my voice and feel included
Get different toys out throughout the day
If the weather is nice, i take a big blanket in the garden with a teddy and just let her lie there and look around

Thats about it i think, she seems happy enough, knackers her out too.

Hope this helps a bit

Hi there,
Well my little one is 16 wk now n very easy 2 entertain thankfully!
She is quite happy 2 sit in bouncy chair or on playmat watching me get on with jobs! My oldest is nearly 4 so she entertains 4 me! Singing n dancing n baby sits following her round with her eyes!
She will sleeps in the chair so drifts in n out of sleep inbetween feeds. She likes the playmat and door bouncer also. With havin 2 kids I can't be interacting with baby all the time as have 2 split my time. We read stories 2getha n she is quite happy 2 sit n watch me n 4 yr old playing nearby. The TV is also a god send when I am goin 2 loo or putting washing out! lol

Thx

Thanks, will try all this, too
I just always feel like I have to enterain her all day long. I feel bad when I put her down in her cot while I get on with things...I just wonder how much interaction she needs. Know what I mean?

Katy

No probs

I thought i had to play with megan allll the time but sometimes things just have to be done, and now she gets on with playing or just lying there looking around, so you dont need to feel bad, they need to learn to play and be on their own for little periods sometimes.

Hi guys

I used to feel like that too but I think that I've probably hindered him a little bit by not giving him tim eon his own to work things out for himself. Now I leave him (obviously supervised) to discover what he can do by hisself a bit more.

I have everything here, baby gyms, a jumperoo millions of toys and yet he seems to have done alot more '1sts' at my mum where there is not much at all. He lays on his flower mat from mothercare or his cot and yet he has rolled over there, had his first laugh there. I think sometimes we can bombard them with too much and then they are too busy processing that to get on with their 'milestones'

Obviously this is only my opinion and I'm sure other poeple will see it from a different angle but now I try to give him 'quiet time' every day where there is nop telly on in the background, no radio, no phone calls. I try to sit and read a book so I'm calm too and just let him 'be'. He seems to like it

Lots of love

Nikki & Traivys 22 weeks on Thursday xx
