Aquadraw

Elizabeth - if you're still popping back to this thread - I've just been looking at that aquadraw thing, do you know how it works?? does it wipe away to start again etc? I've read the descriptions but cant really tell how it works but like the look of it!

We just bought Isla some jumbo crayons and she just didn't get it all, wasn't interested, then eventually bit the end off one, so they've gone back in the cupboard for quite a while!!! This looks a more age appropriate alternative though xxx

Hope this helps.......

Hi ladies,

just seen your question about the aquadraw, Josh has got one an its an absolute godsend (rather than him drawing on walls, carpets etc with crayons!!) Its just a white mat, you fill the pens with plain water and as they write / draw its leaves the mat blue from the water but as it dries it dissapears its fab and he loves his, he got allsorts of stencils with his and has loads of fun with it!!!!

Hope thats been some help, sorry not been on in ages just dont seem to get the time these days!!!!!

Lots of love

Becky, Josh (nearly 3), Lilly (7 months) & 14+4 bump xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ah!!

Thanks Becky - I replied to Elizabeth before I saw your reply!

Thats really helpful, thank you so much, I think I'm going to get one, they sound really clever. xxxx

PS - Rach - sorry for hijacking your thread a bit here!! xx

Hi hun

i'm not too sure tbh, but i found this http://www.ciao.co.uk/Tomy_AquaDraw__Review_5491280

there are ones with pictures already on, but i think the blank ones are better!

Thanks

Thanks Elizabeth, bless you popping on here to help us out and still managing to sort your house out!!!

I'm so intrigued, the reviews look good too, I just can't for the life of me work out why it needs water in the pens.....

I might head over to Toy-r-us and ask if they'll show me one before I buy! will let you know if they agree! xxx

Lol

you are very welcome, but it's nice to escape from the boxes and sit down for ten mins

Pressies

Morning,

I need inspiration too, Emily will be 10 months at Christmas. We were thinking of getting her a walker but the house is already cluttered with her stuff but I am getting her things as and when I see them. Found a pop up book with noises for her and a sort of ball with shapes and noises.

Mark bought Emily a bouncer yesterday, the thing you hang from the door. She loved it last night so there is another toy I can put her in so I can get on with my (chores / fb!). It is good coz it is in the lounge door but she can swing round and see me in the kitchen. Only £25 from Mothercare!

Hope all is well

I forgot........

............. to say i took cadene to smyths which is a big toy warehouse a few weeks before her birthday so i could see what she was attracted to (that's how we ended up with elmo) xxxxx

I'm an expert

only joking.. but cadene was 1 last week and got loads of stuff... her main present was a pink soft rocking horse and an elmo live then she had a pram and dolly from my mum and a dolls house.... she's mostly played with all her main presents and a push along princess carriage (fisher price little people) and a tea set (fisher price laugh and learn).. she had so much i've put some of it away til she's older..... but she loves anything with a face so she can kiss it and bite it's nose so dollies and teddies were a hit.. i wanted to get her a wooden trolley cause she loves the one at gymbabes but she can push the pram for now cause i just dont have the room....! she loves anything with buttons that do something e.g make a noise....... if i had a boy i would say a garage, train set, wooden trolley, trampoline, any cars etc
hope that helps,
xxx danica and cadene xxx

Hmmm

hey Rach,

Be interested to see what replies you to get this as I'm looking for inspiration too!

Isla is 11months and seems quite uninterested in toys and would rather explore the house, and I'm not sure if she's cos she's bored of her current toys or if it's a phase! When she does look at toys though her fave seems to be her walker (the trolley things full of bricks that they push).

She's also got a few of those electronic story book things that sing songs and flash lights when the pages turn (her 'In the night garden' one is her fave!).

I keep reading about how 1yr olds like toys that do action=reward type things, like buttons to make things pop up etc...

Oh - sorry to cut short - shes just woken from nap and crying out!

Happy shopping though hun!
Love N & Isla xx

Thanks girls

My dad is making a wooden push along trolley so got that covered. I saw that In the Night Garden book yest but Sam didn't seem too impressed, prob just bored with shopping tho! He has a bouncer and loves it! We have to take it straight down when he's finished as he just gazes adoringly at it and wants to get back in!

Nikki, would Isla be interested in something like a toy kitchen, my friends little girl loves hers.

I've been looking at a bench and hammer thing and I'll look for some action=reward things too. Just want to buy good things as we're skint so wanna spend the money wisely and also figure that he'll prob be more interested in the wrapping paper at this age!

Will also look at things that go too, thanks Danica!

There is so much out there, it's unbelievable!

Hope Natalie, Emily and Isla are all feeling better.
