Hair

Hi Everyone.

Hope Your all well.

Just wondering, after your babies did your hair fall out loads, mines everywhere and feels like its going really thin, ive had it cut, but its stil coming out loads. Its getting me down and making me very paranoid. I dont feel i can let people take pics of me and megan together just incase it shows how thin its going.

Megan is 14 weeks if that helps, not sure if its my hormones or something.

Hi

Assume you mean your hair not Megans.....

I posted this a while back too as loads of my hair was falling out and still is. Apparently when you are pregnant you gain more hair and after childbirth you lose what you gained not anymore hair. It is totally normal for hair to fall out, my pillow each morning was covered in my hair and as for the plughole - well!! It seems to have quitened down now but it is still falling out a bit and Emily is over 7 months old.

However if you are concerned go and talk to your Doctor or HV but I am sure what you are losing is normal 'extra' hair.

Lots of Love

Hi hun

From when Holly was about 4-6 months I lost loads of hair to the point where I was getting very worried and asked my GP!!! She said it's all normal and to do with the levels of hormones re-adjusting after pregnancy - while pregnant your hair gets much thicker and it is just getting back to normal. Eventually the hair loss slowed down and stopped when Holly was around 6 months. It did get me down quite a bit but didn't last for too long - and no-one else noticed even though I was convinced it was obvious lol. Try not to worry it shouldn't last too long

Love and hugs.

....

Mine hasnt but my hair dresser was surprised as shes had quite a few people come in moaning about there hair falling out after they've had babies etc. Its all your hormones and something to do with the protein. I dont think it lasts long so it should go back to normal soon, just be carefull on how much you wash, brush and condition it.

Oh yes!!!!

Most definitely.....

Mine was coming out in handfuls in the shower when I washed it (maybe 6-8 big handfuls) then again when I brushed it afterwards (same again) and the same again at night before I went to bed (I tie my hair up all the time as it gets pulled by little hands!hehe) so letting it down resulted in loads more. The plugs were full and hubby was complaining it was all over the house! (my hair is long too which probably doesn't help!).

I stopped breastfeeding at 5 months and I noticed it got a bit worse then too, then I think when Isla was about 8 months it stopped and infact now I've got about an inch of wispy new hair round my hairline where it's all growing back!!

I went to the hairdresssers last sat and even she said she can see all the regrowth and new hair, so I hope this last bit makes you feel a bit better, as I too felt really worried about it at the time xxx

Yeah

I have noticed that I've got about 2in of wispy new hair around the edges now too lol...
