What;s your routine?

Hi ladies, I have been reading up on routines etc, some have them & some don't, so I was wondering what's yours (if you have one) & how old your bubs is?

Thomas will be 17 weeks on Tuesday 6th October / 4 months on 9th which ever way you look at it Not sure how much he weighs, I'm off to clinic tomoz to find out. He was 8lb 5oz born & a long baby at 54cm.

I really need to start getting up earlier to get myself organised first so at the mo we get up at 8 am but I'm going to try & get up at 7am to do my exercises & have my breakfast. At the mo this is our routine:

7am - 8am Sleep lol (this is when I intend to get up from now on )

8am - 9am 6oz feed, top & tail

9am - 10am Thomas play on mat while I shower & get ready

10am - 11am Thomas nap while I tidy & clean bottles & steralise

11am - 12 noon Play (this is when I'm going to start tummy time)

12 noon - 12.30pm 7oz feed & nappy change

12.30pm - 2pm Play etc (make sure we have "outside time", maybe walk to shops)

2pm - 3pm Thomas nap (This maybe when I should prepare tea)

3pm - 4pm Nap time may run over, play & reading time

4pm - 4.30pm 7oz feed & nappy change

4.30pm - 5.30pm Play (again lol)

5pm - 6pm Thomas nap (late I know but it seems to work for him)

6pm - 6.30pm Baby first TV (this will be on in background most of the day)

6.30pm - 7pm Bath, 7oz feed, bed (bath every other night)

10.45pm - 11pm Dream feed (7oz feed - although I'm going to try 8oz tonight)

4am - 4.30am 6oz feed (although I'm going to try only 5oz on this next one & try reduce it each time to see if he will drop it)

Obviously this isn't as strict as it may seem,
I will be taking him to Tadpole splash me days
I have friends & their babies round for play atleast 1 day a week
We have started Mother & Toddler groups
I go for luch atleast once a week with friends & mum

I thought it would be good to get an idea on how others work & see if we can get ideas from each other, I hope to pick up some tips.

Well after me posting this thread

todays routine was completely different lol.

Thomas woke at 3.30am but eventually fell back to sleep on his own & woke for a feed at 5.20am, then he slept til 9am (so I got up at 8am & got myself ready). I managed to get ready by 10am (well just gone), & went to mother & toddler group. Got back, fed etc then went for bridesmaid dress fitting - eek measurements lol. I have 7 month to get into shape (& make sure I don't get pg again lol).

xx

My god, you are all so organised. I still play each day as it comes!! Archie doesnt always eat at the same time, if I feed him at 8pm which I am trying to do and then I put him to bed he wakes at about 4am for a feed but if I feed him and let him sleep down here with us and put him to bed when we go he goes through till between 6-8am??!! Sunday he didnt wake till 1030!!!
So he really doesnt have a set routine, is this really a problem at such a young age?? I would love a routine tho.

I do bath him at 730 everyother night tho.

Well, we are concentrating on the night time routine- and letting Calum tell us what he needs during the day.

Calum is fed every 4hrs. I let him wake himself up in the morning- normally anytime between 5-8am. If he is up too early I put him back to bed but anytime after 7am we stay up.

Feeds every four hours during the day- he doesn't normally take too much and takes about an hour to feed.

When Daddy gets home from work about 6pm it's bath time, we bath every night as Calum needs to get a colic massage (makes a big difference)!

After bath and massage it's feeding time (7pmish). Then Calum's normally hungry again by 9pm so is fed again and put to bed by 10pm. He doesn't normally wake up till the morning. He is wide awake in the evenings and just soo hungry- during the day I struggle to feed him!

The past 2 nights though he hasn't been going to bed after 9pm bottle (7oz) he has still been hungry so has had another bottle before going down about 12 or 1! I hope this doesn't continue too long.

Hope everyone is well,

Eileen and Calum 10wks

Hey

We've went along with Aceys own routine from day one really, just happens that his routine fits in perfect for us lol.

Basically this is it, but can and does change, although the one part of the day that NEVER changes is his Bath/Bedtime ...

7.00 am - Wake up, Breakfast,
8.00 am - Dressed, Teeth Brushed, Washed etc
9.00 am - Play/Baby Group/Library/Walk out/Park/Feed Ducks/Shopping/Baking/Painting/ etc etc etc lol
10.00 am - Snack
10.30 am - Nap
12.00 pm - Lunch
1.00 pm - Same as 9.00 am
2.00 pm - Snack
5.00 pm - Dinner
6.00 pm - Bath
6.30 pm - Bottle/Bed

Thats more or less it, and hopefully Faryn will fit into that too somehow lol.

Take care, Lu, Acey & Faryn xx

Hey

This routine isnt that strict and Megan changes it slightly to what she needs or to when we are going out but if we stay in, it goes like this...

7am - Megan wakes up and comes into our room to wake up Daddy and have some cuddles

7.30 - Take her downstairs, put her in front of cbeebies whilst I make her bottle and boil the kettle to fill up the flask

7.45 - Get her washed dressed and give her a feed.

8.00 - She watches chuggington and number jacks whilst sitting with daddy and I get her bottles sorted, then she just plays around

9.00ish - She goes to sleep for about an hour, (in this time im meant to be getting ready lol but im usually stuck on facebook)

Basically after this anything goes till 5pm. she feeds every 4 - 5 hours.

5.00pm She has some baby rice or porrige and then some playtime waiting for Daddy to get home

6.00pm Cuddles with Daddy

7.00pm Goes in the bath (although we have to stop bathing her every day now as her skin is a bit dry)

7.30pm Gets in the sleeping bag, lights off, cuddles with Mummy and a bottle, then a story then usually she ends up flat out.

Sometimes she wakes up in the night, at the moment she is due to teething.

We got to baby groups 3 times a week, and then baby clinic is on a tuesday every other week, and on Wednesdays either we have visitors or we just turn the house into a huge mess with all the toys and books, but tend to go for a little walk down the canal to see the ducks
