7 months to 8 months

Hi there,

What are all the 7-8 months olds doing now and what new things are happening?

So far with Emily we have NO teeth!! She is really wriggling now and when on tummy (she doesnt like it that much) she is using her legs to push but not alot happens..... She loves to stand up!!! So we have got her a bouncer which she goes in twice a day.

Sounds, she says la la, mwa mwa (I like to think it is ma ma) but not sure and Mark thought he heard a Da Da but we shall see......

Food, this can be a struggle, I am struggling to get meat down her, try sneaking chicken in her veggie cubes but lately this is not working and has been quite frustrating, however fruit, rice, porridge and nibbles are going down well. This is our routine but after reading Rach's post I will sneak a small mid morning milk drink in to get more milk into Emily and also that will push lunch back a bit which will be good as Emily is going to nursery in 3 weeks.

7am - 6oz milk bottle
8am - Porridge
10am - Milk Drink (will try this for first time today - prob 3 oz bottle)
12noon - Lunch which will be 2-3 cubes of veg and meat with some nibbles like cheese, toast, organic snacks and then half a yoghurt. Juice to drink
3pm - 5oz Bottle
5pm - Tea which is 2 cubes of fruit with rice and milk
6.30 - 6.45pm - Bedtime milk of 5oz bottle

Emily's naps are approx 8.30am - 10am and then from approx 12.30pm - 2.00pm - she has knocked the 4pm nap on the head unless she is in the car........

Does this look okay, would welcome any comments........

I go back to work in 3 weeks so getting nervous about the new routine, Emily settling into nursery and us all getting ready to be out the door by 8.15am at the latest !! How did you find your LO settling into nursery.......

Anyway, I think I have finished rambling now and I need my shreddies!!

Lots of Love

Hi hun

My lil man will be 7 months on 7th Oct and he still has NO teeth even though He's been teething forever lol .. think poor little man may end up getting 2 at once lol.

He is becoming more and more mobile he rolls over and over until he gets where he want s( usually the stereo ) he also shuffles along on his back ( now an expert at this he almost does a crab like position ) and can push up really well from his tummy and get one leg underneath him so crawling wont be too far away. He also sits but can falls when he looses concentration or he see a more interesting top near by lol.

He is feeding really well and is on 3 meals a day and LOVES it .. in fact he will refuse milk but eat solids so i keep offering him milk but i guess he must get what he needs as he sleeps 13 hrs at night although I do worry he doesn't get enough will speak to HV about it but my HV is not the nicest of people.

Our day usually goes like :

7am - wake and have 3oz of milk and porridge made with 2oz of milk
10-10.30 - 4oz of milk ( usually takes 2 )
12pm - 1small jar savoury ( or homemade veggies, c flower cheese or spag bol ) and half small jar pudding or baby yog or banana and rusk.Water to drink
2-2.30pm - 4oz milk ( usually takes 2 )
4pm - same as lunchtime
6pm - bath, 6oz and bed
10pm - 6oz dream feed (although last few days only taking 4 so may be time to drop this soon)

During the day he tends to cat nap so may have a 45 min nap at about 9am another about 11am and a slightly longer nap around 1 or 2.

I think your routine looks great and the main thing is it works for Emily ( and you lol ) Good luck going back to work let us know how you get on as I go back just after Xmas !!!!

Would welcome any comments on routine progress etc as I say HV seems completely uniterested unless she can point out something I'm doing wrong so all comments, constructive criticism appreciated

T care all
