Lydia still not sleeping!!

Hello ladies ... I know it's been ages since I've posted on here ... sorry!!! Lifes a huge mixture of no sleep and doing 'things'!!!!

Lydia is nearly 10 months now, and her sleeping has got worse!!! We get her down OK, but then aftera hour she is awake again! Martyn goes in and gives her water, and sometimes she'll go down for another hour if I'm lucky!!! She then won't settle so she comes into our room to feed (grins as she comes in), but won't go into a deep enough sleep to put her back down!!! She then wakes roughly every hour for a feed!!
Last night I fed her every other time that she woke ... but she was fighting me ... and it took ages to get her back to sleep!!!
The HV just says it's because she's breast fed, but we Need sleep!!! Lydia's bags under her eyes droop half way down her face, and she's only having a short nap during the day!!
Lydia has also cut down on her solids during the day!!!
HELP!!!!
Love a shattered Janice and on the go Lydia,
xxx

Hi

Poor you, i know how it feels as Scarlett never slept through until she was about 11 months old, she used to wake for a feed still and she was bottle fed, not every hour though like Lydia! Would you say that she is actually hungry and feeding loads when she wakes or do you think she is just doing it for comfort? if it is the latter then i think the only thing you can do is the controlled crying technique, its awful and heartbreaking but it does work, as long as you are consistent, if Lydia wakes up then go into her room, dont speak to her, maybe offer the water but that is it, lay her back down, say night night mummy loves you etc and walk out of the room, she will then prob scream her head off, leave her about 5 mins and do the same, each time you leave her make sure that you leave her a bit longer, i took me about 2 weeks of doing this with Scarlett before she actually backed down, but she is very stubborn! now she only really wakes if she is poorly etc. it is hard work, many a night i was in floods of tears myself but as long as you keep it up and dont break first then it will work.

XXXXX
