Thyroxin

Hey

Hope everyone is ok.

Today I got a phone call from the docs which I wasnt expecting as I was meant to be calling them tomorrow for the results of my blood test so I knew it wasnt going to be great news.

The reason I feel as bad as I am is because my thyroid isnt working. My mum has thyroid problems and have been asking docs to test me since I was 16 years old but got told it wasnt needed. The doc I saw yesterday was really good and took my bloods straight away, and got a phone call an hour ago.

Lee has left work early to go and pick up my prescription (he maybe a pain but he comes to the rescue when its needed) and get it sorted so I can start straight away and have to go for another blood test in 6 weeks.

Glad something is finally being sorted, but hate the fact Im gonna have to take tablets for the rest of my life. Havent looked into it much yet, think I need to wait for Lee as he is a little bit freaked.

Thought I would keep you updated

My doctor told me to right down everything i have been feeling since ive been ill and anything that i could think of before that wasnt like me, thinking about it, its turned into a huge list, then i had to check it against symptoms on a site she give me and basically explais everything now, hopefully the tablets will help me feel normalish soon.

Hi Nat,

Sorry to hear that, i have the same problem, my nan is hypo and im hypo thyroid, it may take some time to get you dosage right, its fairly straight forward, the dr will minitor your bloods quite closely for a while, then the testing will go to every 6 months or so. good luck and don't get too worried about it, get a form from your chemist or dr for a perscription card, as you get them free for lifetime medication like thyroxin.

Hey

Thank you, I have to go back a few weeks before my maternity medical expemption card runs out to send off for the new one.
I was a bit freaked out at first, but I have looked it up, talked to my mum and just gonna deal with it.

There are some big changes that im finding hard though, the walk from my house to town is about 3 and a half miles and i do that 3 days a week, but i couldnt even get that far, doesnt help having a bug still. Being cold all the time too, if you saw my wardrobe you would see im never cold, so today I had to look for cardigans and coats

Good luck with William bump
