Teething gel question

My 17 week old baby is teething. She usually falls asleep alright but then wakes up a few mins later crying with her fist in her mouth - clearly in pain from teething. I then apply some teething gel and that sends her off into dreamland. Is it ok to do this over a few days or is there a limit as of how long I should use teething gel (I only use it once a day)? Does anyone know?

Katy

Thank you girls. Once more you put my mind at rest
Ashira doesn't really seem to be troubled throughout the day. It is always at night and she sucks her fists or finger like mad and cries. Poor thing. I hope this tooth will actually make an appearance soon!

Thanks again
Katy

I use throughout day

Hiya,
Sorry 2 hear shes havin sum trouble, its horrible 4 them.
Well I have always used teething gels, I am using calgel at the mo. I use it a few times a day along with ashton & parsons powders, I'm sure its fine 2 use a few times a day hun.
Hope she is relieved soon.

Hi hun,

as far as I know it's fine to use long term, don't think it works like calpol as it's only a local anaesthetic so doesn't create a build up in the body, know they recommend you don't use calpol longer than a few days on the run for that reason. I use bongela teething gel several times a day for a couple of weeks at a time if Kaitlyn's having a bad spell with her gums. Hope she's better soon,

love and hugs,
Clare xxx
