Winding

Hi Ladies,

Well i discovered that alot of the strange breathing is because he has LOADS of wind even after 2-3 burps you can hear it still so he breathes funny - soon as its gone he breathes normal again lol.

Only thing is he takes ages and ages to wind i've tried every technique to bobbing swaying swiverling normal back patting rubbing walking around - nothing works to get the last out then he doesnt settle properly to sleep...

Any ideas?

Hey

We held Megan as upright as possible and rocked her backwards and forwards, it takes a little while but brings it up without having to really force it up, now she just does it all herself.
Really loudly too lol

Glad you have managed to find out why

Aww

Bless him, the dreaded wind!... we used to sit rosie on our knee and hold her cheeks or chest and pat her on her back, this position wokred best for us...we still do it now with her and if not then getting up putting them over your sholder and slowly walking whilst patting there back seems to work?. We also used Infacol which was fine for first couple of weeks but it seemed to stop working, so we moved to dentinox which worked really well and you can put it in there bottles.

I hope this helps, if it is a problem for him i would speak with MW or HV and im sure they will recommend something for him, ah bless i havent seen his pics yet as the moderators havent put them up? but i cant wait to see them! Congrats x

Hey

With Sam we used to straighten him out like the other girls have said, we either sat him upright on our knees kind of with one hand holding the chest and the other hand doing sweeping motions up his back with the palm of hand to sit him straight up to help the bubbles move up and out. Across knee like Danica said or also Dan used to rest Sam belly down along his forearm and Sam seemed to find this very comfortable, i think cos there was a bit of pressure on his belly forcing the wind out. The funny thing was that he wouldn't let dan sit down to do it so he had to walk about for ages! One last thing now cos i'm completely waffling and very prob not even making sense (am knackered!) was that walking up the stairs did it, must've been the jiggling about!

Also have you tried infacol/dentinox they break the bubbles down so they become smaller and easier to pass? I think you can use them from birth but not completely sure!

Good luck , hope you find something that works for André...yey i did it! Thanks for that, i'd never even noticed that key before!!

Hey

hey i used to sit in a kinda backwards on chair so your boobs are more up sounds funny then rub babys back in circles or pats so baby is kinda on your boobs and belly it worked with my 3 i never used the over lap thing till they were much older congrats again xxx

Hello!

I found that walking about with baby in the sling was a really good way of getting wind up! My sling holds them upright against my tummy. Also when Jessica struggled with wind I used to peddle her legs to try and get things moving!
Glad you have discovered why André is breathing funny! Must be a weight off your mind.

Have you tried

over your knee....? used to do that with cadene as you could hear the bubbles in her chest still... just put him so his tummy is pressed against your knee obv support his head and rub his back then do upward strokes....
