Sleep positions

Ben has started moving around alot in his cot at night snd waking himself because of it. He likes to sleep on his side at present but the last few nights he has rolled onto his side and then ended up with his face against the cot bars and his legs through the bars. This really upsets him and he wakes up screaming. This moring he woke screaming at 4.30 cos he got in this position and got his legs stuck. I have to really manover him to free him. I dont know what to do to prevent this. I put him back on his back when i go to bed and check him if i go to the loo in the night. Any other ideas? i got a cot bumper but never used it as i heard that babies can suffocate cos of it? Please can i have some ideas as we are we struggling with what to do with him and it is waking him about 5 times anight and he has always been a good sleeper.

Thanks all

Evening

A Sleepbag is probably the best option at the moment whilst he is moving around. Emily did this when she moved from the moses basket to the cot so a sleepbag prevents feet through the bars. We converted back to blankets but recently back to sleepbag as Emily has been on the move again.

I would be against cot bumpers as babies could suffocate from them so we have not used ours.

Hope this helps

Hi jodie

I was going to suggest a sleeping bag too but your lil man is obviously too clever to let that stop him lol.
I also had concerns about a bumper but as Dylan is able to shuffle himself along on his back until his head hits the bars I have had to use one. I have made extra holes both top and bottom and threaded ribbon through and basically attached the bumper to every bar top and bottom so no matter how hard he tries ( and he does lol ) he cannot move the bumper.
Just a suggestion ..

Hmm

is there away to put the bumper on the outside maybe attach it with ribbon so theres a gap if his face against it but in the way to get a leg through???

Otherwise i dunno how about a sleep bag so his legs are not free? I have one that you can use from birth but must be more that 7.7lb from primark that werent that much..

Hope i help in some way..

Love Sam, Mya, André xx

Thanks for your reply, i may try putting the bumber on the outside. Ben is already in a sleep bag and he still gets his legs stuck. I think them sleep bags are brill..

Thanks again

Hey

how about sticking the bumber on the outside but putting his feet that way so the bumber will stop his feet comeing thou i never use bumbers in my cot but outside would be safe xx
