Help please (warning sorry tmi)

Hope everyone is well.

Well I don't really know how to explain how I'm feeling, I don't know if it's normal after having a baby or what. A couple of days ago I started getting period type pains and the feeling like I need a poo all the time (even if I had just been).

Last night when I was in the bath I checked to see how I was healing and it feels like something is lower in my vagina than in should be but when I stood up and checked it felt 'normal'. I still have the same feelings today plus lower backache. I'm not in pain just feeling a bit uncomfortable. I feel a bit icky too but I think that's just because I've not been eating properly and I'm tired. When I read up on the scary internet it says prolapse either womb or rectal. I'm terrified something is wrong but don't really wanna go to the doctor just yet if I can help it. Is this normal after having a baby as I didn't have it with my son, anyone experienced the same thing?

Cheers girl's

Thanks girls. I'm going to mention it to my midwife today.

I didn't do my pelvic floor muscles properly but I was chatting to my mate and now I'm doing them right, not sure how I managed to do them wrong tbh.

Good news is I checked myself again last night and it's defo feeling a lot more 'normal' than the other night. Still feeling a bit funny but nowhere near as bad.

Cheers

How did u get on at MW? Pelvic floor muscles are weird, i just tighten as stopping a wee... i always forget to do them but a few days after having rosie i remember wanting the loo and i litrally had to run and find a toilet because i couldnt hold it in like i used to lol, now im back to "normal" but it did take a while so these pelvic floors are very important if you can remember them

Heya, everything went fine thanks, midwife just told me to keep going with my pelvic floor exercises and see how I go. I have been doing them for about 4 hours a day lol.

Much better now, thankfully , really thought I'd had a prolapse. Bladder is still a bit weak but not expecting miracles over night.

Hi hun,

I agree with mrsv you should probably get it checked out just to be on the safe side but I do remember after I had Kaitlyn my bits didn't feel right at all, did have a lot of damage and stitches (3rd degree tear followed by an episiotomy and forceps delivery, ouch!) but it felt like my womb was falling out and I was sure I could feel something that shouldn't be there. Was too embarrassed to mention it to my midwife and it really worried me for a while but everything's fine now (sure you wanted to know that!) so don't know if it was just majorly sagging pelvic floor muscles or just a lot of swelling inside and out that felt worse than it was if you get what I mean. Do think it's worth a trip to the docs, wish I'd gone now and saved myself all that worry for nothing so if you think you can grin and bare it (lol) I would get it checked, just didn't want you to think it was definitely something major cos it might not be. Not too sure what to say about the pains and urge to poo feeling, that side of things was a problem in itself for me cos I got so badly constipated after giving birth I was in agony anyway. If you can't face the docs at least try and have a chat with your midwife, you need to look after yourself and like V says if there is a problem the sooner you get treatment the better. Let us know how you go hun, big hugs.

Love,
Clare and Kaitlyn xxx

I only experience this soon after i gave birth but it soon went away 2 - 3 days later, i think it was where i tore and just my body healing up? Have you been doing your pelvic floor exercises? I would just book an appointment to see doctor or if your still with MW get her to check when she is there next. Hope this helps

Hi toni

I never experienced this but also I had a c-section so might be why but I wanted to say - you really should go and see a doctor just to be safe. The reason I say that is because if it is a prolapse the sooner you get seen to the better. The longer the muscles stay 'damaged' the harder it will be to work on them and rectify any probs so (and I am sure you will be fine) but go see your GP.

Love V.
