Night feeds?

Morning all,

Just a quickie, Emily was 8 months yesterday and has gone through the night since a very early age. Last night approx 11.45pm she woke up and we could not settle her and she was back in her cot crying lots.

Changed nappy, gave her calpol as we thought she was under the weather and she still did not settle.

In the end I thought perhaps she is hungry so gave her a bottle of milk and she drank 4 ounces!! Then she went straight to sleep!

Hoping this is a one off but could this be a growth spurt, teething or perhaps just one of those things. She has had her normal milk and porridge this morning and has not cut this back.

Has this happened to you, I am worried coz I don't want to start getting into this habit but we shall see what happens tonight!

I think she is preparing some night feeding just as I am going back to work

Thanks girls and hope you all had a good weekend!

I reckon

she would have went back to sleep anyway but it's tempting to try a bobo when you're tired yourself and desperate.
I've had the babies start to wake at different stages but not for food. There's usually been another reason like teething or the heat etc.
Hopefully, as you say it's a one off but as long as you know she is eating well in the day then maybe don't give milk in case yu set her up for expecting it.

I know,,,

what you mean but we had tried quite a few options, she was up from 11.45pm until approx 1.45am and nothing would settle her - I think if she does it again I will try the Ashtons as I dont want to get into the habit of feeding in the night. The fact that she took 4 ounces may mean she was hungry - who knows??

Fingers crossed for tonight!
