Cow & gate - stage 2

I was wondering if and when i need to move rosie up to the stage 2 hungrer baby milk? My HV advised me against it when rosie was 3months old as she said its bad for consitpation but ive started weaning her and she has been waking for an extra feed at 5am big shock to my system as ive been used to her sleeping 12 hours! ahhh!! she has 8oz bottles 4 feeds a day, but is having 5 now.

Hey

dont know why she advised apitmal, bit strange.

Stage 2 isnt hungry baby milk but it is for hungrier babies which is why its a bit thicker.

With Megan I put her on Stage 2 in the morning and one at night for a while until she got used to it otherwise it could cause constipation.

xx

Thnx nat for ur replies

I have decided not to put her on it, if she wakes up then she wakes up... its very tiering but id rather be awake in night then her be constipated so i just hope she goes back to her old 12hrs!!

Today has been a bit strange with the clock changes, she seems to have fed the actuall time the clock says but she seems very sleepy today!

Hope ur well xxx

Help needed - again!

I spoke with cow and gate 1st advisor said its actually called "aptimal hungrier baby 2" - Confussed as why she advised this as im using cow and gate? or are they in partnership?

2nd advisor told me just to keep her on stage 1 (green colour tub) because she doesnt drink 9oz every2hrs? But she is still waking in the night for a feed, she usally takes like 5oz at about 3am - 6am depends what time as it varies... i did go and buy 2 cartons of cow and gate (blue colour carton hungry baby food) probs what u girls have said isnt the hungry baby food?

Would it be possible for someone to give me a link to the picture of the hungry baby food as the only one i know of is this.... http://www.cowandgate.co.uk/our_products/baby_milks/for_hungrier_babies

I went to HV today she weighs 14lb 14oz so just on the average line i mentioned about her waking at 5am and that she was one stage 1 and she said to move up a stage so will try her on that see how it goes...going on to cow and gate website now to check which milk

Thnks xx

Hey

Stage 2 isnt hungry baby milk, but its a little thicker than stage 1.
Megan was put on it at 11 weeks the same time i was told to start her on baby rice, but Megan cant have stage 2 anymore, it makes her really sick but she never had trouble with constipation.

I would talk to your hv and see what she says. Must be really hard to start getting up at 5am after sleeping through.

Stage 2

isn't for hungrier babies. There is a box caled hungry baby milk or something like that but the actual stage 2 milk is probably the one your HV was advising against as apparantly it's no different from Stage 1 but they can't advertise Stage 1 milk due to breastfeeding being promoted as best so they introduced this move along milk and can advertise that.

I think at her age 5 8oz bottles is ok to be having. Obviously you would rather not be giving one at 5 am. I'm not sure at all what to advise you though. How is weaning going? Maybe the solid is not enough for her just now and she'd rather have the milk for a few more weeks??

Hey

hows you? I guess you can always try it and if it doesn't work then revert back to your original milk..

she is a hungry baby then - what does Rosie weigh at the moment. We have the opposite, Emily is a little'un - she is starting to eat well - well the things she likes anyway!

love
