Help....need advise and tips on potty training....

My wee boy turned 2 last week and i have been trying to potty train him. Its so hard...this may sound bad, but i work full time, only get 2 days a week off, and i am struggling to find the time. He uses it at night before his bath, but not during day etc.

Can someone give me any advise or tell me how they potty trained their little ones.

Thanks

Hello

I haven't started potty training myself, Etienne is only 21 months old, but I've been thinking about it for a while. I bought the Gina ford book "potty training in one week", and even if I don't believe when the time comes, I'll be able to potty train my boy in one week, I think it's full of really good tips, like recognising the signs indicating you boy is ready or not to be potty trained.
They also say that it's best to do it when you have time on your hands... maybe if you have days off work, it might be a good time to do it?
Sorry for not being able to help much,
good luck

I do it

on the 2 days not at work, the weekend and in the evening. What I mean is I keep the nappy off for a while during these times.

Personally, I think Logan is too young and if I were you I'd def give it a break for a while although there is no harm in having the potty lying around but don't stress about it. Charlie was 2 in July and we are nowhere near it. My older 3 boys were near their 3rd birthday when we managed it. This isn't an unusual age to potty train by. I've heard girls manage it earlier.

The older boys had no probs potty training. I think it's cos I waited till they were well over their 2nd birthdays and they seemed to understand more, still took a while but it was never a difficult experience for us.

Thanks jen

People keep saying...ohhh you should have started potty training by now etc. Its getting me down. Why do people feel the need to say things like that, makes me feel bad....

I know its up to me though. Shouldnt listen to others lol.
