Thomas on antibiotics for lump in thigh 4 weeks after 2nd jabs

I thought the lump has been getting bigger the past week so asked the HV & then saw the doc. The lump could be a cyst & the colour suggests infection. I didn't think to ask how on earth could it get infected? I'm back there next Monday, a week after starting antibiotics so I will ask then. We have had to pospone 3rd set of jabs.

Hope all are well

Caz & Thomas xx

Hey hun, Im sorry to hear Thomas has now got an infection!!
I dont know about your place but at my Docs they are so busy on jab day, your in and out as quick as anything, I dont think the sterility is as good as it could be!! Archie had his final jabs today and although I wasnt paying an awful lot of attention Im sure I didnt see the nurse swab the area b4 each injection, and I know she wasnt wearing gloves!!

I hope the Antibiotics sort him out hun xx

Ah ha now there's a thought

Cheers Adele, I will deffo be making sure she swabs the area next time. It was the HV, she is really nice - but yep really busy!

Thomas has still got a bit of a cough & cold & when he coughs hard & brings his bottle back up, there has been streaks of brown in it. I rang the docs who said it sounds like burst blood vessels from coughing so hard I was hoping it's not the antibiotics, which btw are a nightmare to get down him!
The lump feels bigger again today & I am so tempted to squeeze it to see if anything comes out but there ts no way I would actually do it.

xx

Poor thomas!

Sorry to hear that the lump has got infected. I think it is just one of those things though and you are unlikely to get a conclusive answer about how that happened.

Hope the antibiotics do the trick and sort it out for him quickly.

Aww thanks ladies

I hope it clears up. Maybe he's had a reaction to the needle? Who knows. I know I'm not "dirty" so I wouldn't want people thinking he got the infection like that

xx
